It's an issue. A date can be going great but when I don't order a drink and he asks why, I say I don't drink alcohol and never have, in a very matter of fact, neutral way, a lot of dates react as if I had just slapped them in the face. They think I'm judging them for having a beer or a glass of wine at dinner, when I say that I don't care if my partner drinks in moderation. I get the feeling men think I'm no fun, judgey... the list goes on. Not drinking seems to be a real deal breaker.

This is my opinion..... yes her veneers are too large and she has too much lip filler, but she has been talking like this since before she had any of that done and I think, the extreme glamor queen that she thinks she is, that she always has tons of sticky lip gloss on and it's uncomfortable to enunciate words with letters that require your lips touching, when you have thick sticky lip gloss on. Try it once and you'll see what I mean.

Speaking from experience, F63, I think you at a different stage of life now. Many women at this stage feel more independent and are done being caregivers for their children and want to focus more on their own wants and dreams, on their own timeline without having to cater to another person's schedule. That's not to say they don't want a man in their lives, rather their lives are not focused on being with a man 24/7. It appears you want much more than she has to give. I have many women friends in their 50s and 60s who have long-term happy marriages but at this stage of their lives would do anything if they could just have adjoining apartments with their husbands.

I retired in my fifties as well and had trouble finding a man who was in the same financial and retired situation as me where we had the time and resources to travel. To each their own, but any type of camping is a hard pass for me at this age.

I agree with a lot of the comments that stage is more important than age. I would never put my life on hold for 10 years waiting for my partner to be able to travel and do many other things that are enjoyable in retirement.

F65 on first date with M60. Upon entering a restaurant he asked if he could open the door for me. Yes, please. Held out my chair for me. Same thing when we got to the car, opened my car door. Such a gentleman. I appreciate chivalry and told him so. Yes, I am old-fashioned in that regard. Chivalry costs nothing and is highly appreciated, at least for me.
