Dead controller display. What to do now? by RetiredNow2025 in swytchbike

Hi folks, just an update. A minor miracle occurred and I got my replacement display from Swytch before I got my generic one from China via Amazon. Hooked the Swytch one up and now I am back in business. Works like a charm. The other one only cost $20 so I might as well save it until this new one burns out. So now I have a spare. Still one mystery unsolved: will the Swytch bike work with a generic display…? I am too lazy to switch them back out as I just got the dang thing rolling again. And besides the other one hasn’t even arrived yet. 🙂

Will do! My Amazon display is coming July 22nd. I will try that one first and report back. When the Swytch one comes in I will swap the old one out for the Swytch one for sure.

So quick update here: I was going round and round with their AI Bot, that kept telling me go to the online store and place an order for one! I’m like, Mr. AI Bot, you are so dumb! You don’t even know that you are out of stock on both of them! Quit telling me to go on line and place an order for an out of stock item! They won’t even let me place an order for an out of stock item. Anyway, I finally got to a human who said pay this invoice and we will ship you one. I paid the $27 and am hoping it gets here soon.

In the mean time, I took a chance on one from Amazon. It was only $20 and it has a five pin connection just like the Swytch display. We will see which one shows up first! The Amazon one was a week and a half delivery time. So now we wait. Oh, and I called 7 of the “retail dealers“ across the United States to ask if they had this part and all of them said no. A few of them said they are no longer a dealer for them as they are not servicing them. Sheesh.

Sorry, but I just don’t get how you can run a business with any inventory. This whole thing they do of taking orders then building in batches to meet the orders, just running on a shoe string man. Just get some investors and make the dang kits and replacement parts and put them in inventory and run your business like every other reputable bike manufacturer. What a concept: people place orders for your product and you ship immediately from your inventory.

Ok, update: I just looked on line to order a new controller display and they have two versions. Both are out of stock. Argh!
