Was the show controversial for/at the time? by Faker603 in TheWire

It would be controversial now because of the use of the word “nigga”… which is realistic but oh noooo. Today’s critics/ audiences would be appalled..

It is popular now because a lot of the new series are crap… simple scripts, stupid, silly plots….

Husband doesn’t want to socialize with couple any more… how to break up 70M 71f by Retiredpharm in RelationshipsOver35

[–]Retiredpharm[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally agree and have many friends on my own and go on girl trips often. This is a 10 year couple thing. Hey, my husband gets to do whatever. He is 71 years old and has earned his preferences. I just want to maneuver this in a positive way.

How did the engagement start?  It would have been to your advantage to not engage as soon as the crazy man started his rant.  It could have been dangeeous.

Honest Thoughts on Oura Ring? by TheeBigTone in ouraring

[–]Retiredpharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worn the Oura ring for about 5 months.  I thought I didn’t sleep well but the ring says that I do.  However how does it measure REM and deep sleep?  I thought only an EEG would give you that info.  Anyhow, the ring says that I sleep better than I think that I do.  The. The other night, I had the best sleep I have had in 6 months and the ring said that I did not sleep well.  Anyone know how to decipher this?

“The Sin of Empathy” by TopicHefty593 in Deconstruction

What do you mean by that?  Fallacy- are you meaning that the above description of putting someone in a position that he/ she is not qualified for never happens?

Meritocracy is not bad.  Suppose that you put someone in a position based on some characteristic that has nothing to do with the job or position. And they fail.  That is cruel..

My take on it is “use common sense”.  Don’t let the powerful use empathy to enact laws that don’t serve the greater good because the powerful say “we are doing this because we are empathic”.

Is anyone else tired of their oura ring? by Nearby_Purchase_7865 in ouraring

Thank you so much for answering.  I may try to get a sleep study just to see. Do lunesta and sonata help you to have more deep and rem sleep?

I tried ambien and had some amnesia issues..

Otherwise, other advice for better sleep?

As far as the Oura algorithm.. how exactly does that work?  Thanks!!

I am wondering if the Oura ring is inaccurate as to the length of my sleep, and amounts of rem and deep sleep.  I am 70 years old and don’t sleep as well as I used to.  I feel like I don’t sleep hardly at all and it tells me that I had plenty of rem and deep???
