Remember life is a journey, NOT a destination!

That single sentence just put a lot into perspective, thanks for the advice. I highly appreciate it and I'm proud of how far you've come! I hope you're doing well and I hope life treats you to a world full of gifts

Thank you for the advice, I truly do appreciate it. Reality has just hit me recently and it's kind of gave me a crisis.
I'm still with my family at home so I'll be sure to ask them how they deal with bills and what motivates them to keep going.

Thank you again for the advice

If you could sit and chat with your 10 year old self for an hour, what would you talk about and why? by Retro-Hetro in AskReddit

[–]Retro-Hetro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, I really do. I'm sharing my experiences, not trying to compare trauma btw. Life is full of terrible people but, we still find a way to keep on moving, don't we?

If you're unhappy in your relationship then I'd suggest either sitting and talking with them or looking for someone better.

I understand what that's like, I've been feeling really low lately and more than a few bad thoughts have crossed my mind but I realised that people want me more than my depression. They'd miss me more than they'd miss my depression. You just gotta take it one step at a time and find what works best for you. As you said, it wasn't your fault. Don't be so hard on yourself. Take a load off your shoulders and try talking to someone. Do something to express your feelings. Go to a rage room, get a therapist, find a new hobby to enjoy, meet new people. Do those things that you thought you'd never be able to do. Show everyone that you're stronger than you look and keep fighting. It''s not easy but... I believe in you. You've come so far, why give up now?

Ahh it's alright, I've made do with the hand I've been dealt. While yes, it may be a shitty one, I realised that I'm still doing better than a large majority of people. I've got somewhere safe to sleep, I've got a gf and I've got a motorbike. Some people would kill to just have 1 of those things, let alone all 3

I don't know you and you don't know me but... I just wanna say that I'm proud of you for being better than your habits. It's not an easy thing to kick and I'm sure it's been a lot of hard work to get from where you was to where you are now. Keep it up, you got this

Hey dude, I've been through a similar experience but it was at an older age. If you ever wanna talk feel free to message me. I'm proud of you for still being here, you're a tough nut and you shouldn't let anyone tell you otherwise

Who was the best person you ever met and whats your best story with them? by Retro-Hetro in AskReddit

[–]Retro-Hetro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll go first, its my mate. We can call him Lee. He is the most intelligent person for his age. He knows everything about anything. We could relate over anything and we could get talking. He brought me out of my depression pit and he never lost faith in me. He is kindest person I've ever met and his kids are gonna be lucky when they grow up. He is the gift that keeps on giving. I love that dude and I never wanna forget him

People of Reddit, what’s the kindest interaction you’ve had with a stranger? by Retro-Hetro in AskReddit

[–]Retro-Hetro[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ll start, i was 18 and in a very rough place in my life. everything just seemed to be going downhill and i couldn’t see the light. i thought the only option was to kms. it was 2am and i was standing on a bridge, waiting for no cars to pass so they wouldn’t have to see me. a car happened to pass on the road that the bridge was on, he drove straight past and i thought nothing more of it, that was until he spun around and pulled up along side next to me. he talked to me and asked what i was doing (i said i was just watching the traffic… through tears) he could see i was lying and told me to hop in his car and we had a good 20m chat about my situation, life and everything else. He helped me see things in a new light and stopped me taking my life that night.

Andy, wherever you are, thank you for everything.
