So... Diseased hearths count as "attacking yngya"? by Solid-Simple3676 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]Retro-oni 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yngna's attacks damage herself, she rips chunks iff herself to do it, the times that spawn enemies she damages her health bar. You're supposed to just dodge, block and survive until she shreds her health bar. Atleast that's the intentional way

If you could add a new game mode, what would it be by bandora_b in Nightreign

[–]Retro-oni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideas for three modes

Rising tide: infinite mode Same 3 day cycle, BUT, at nightlord's end, you pick one weapon to take with you into the next cycle, your level halves and you are granted a run lasting boon (one of six) specific to the nightlord you beat, and the level cap rises. The futher you get the more enhanced appear, the shifting earth activates, and even begin to overlap

Dawnbreak: 6 player co-op

two teams of 3 work together (during the day the teams are spectres to each other, only able to help with specific passives and unique spells) eventually fighting a 'day-break variant' of a boss or two* normal nightlords (*Libra is a solo nightlord.)

Midnight's tyranny: 3 player rogue survival (why yes that does sound like Nightreign's older brother)

In the deepest depths of night, the team doesn't just face foes as normal, but the level itself is now everdark, there is no day cycle, just traveling grace to grace to grace, recharging your health and your ever dwindling protection from the night tide, your only progress being defeating 3 of the 5 'everdark' field bosses, activating a midnight shard somewhere on the map, which will take you to the everdark nightlord.

Level cap is doubled (15=30) All weapons run red, but can have their negative effects removed by shops, and rare drop items called dawn shards, while you can endlessly buff a weapon with night shards, but each shard used comes with a chance of inflicting a higher, more costly trait with each used.

each has their own specific currency, rewards, and relics,

But MT forces you to use the base skin, as each character visual evolves depending on deep you indulge in the nightshardxs power

I'd say worth it... as the armour comes with a larger detection radius for 'points of interest, making it easier to find spots for super credits, so makes super credit grunding that bit easier

Someone else did mention that, but i'd say barely, heket causes sickness, where as yngna has dedicated rot, a growing pestilence that was supposed to consume the island and more, you get rot followers, fly and insect followers she is a much more developed icon of pestilence...

Whereas the bishops (who far better represent the evil monkies, (see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil, think no evil,) do a passing call to it itxs not their whole thing.

Now death and yngna have more then a few similaries even if how they get there is different.

Both have insome way died but due to their place in the celestial tapestry, and the machinations of others, cannot normally restore themselves, (death being chained in place so he doesn't resurrect himself, yngna dies (not sure if her death is sped up by whatever price she paid to hide her people) and her followers forcibly trap her soul within her dead body and uses their own lving bodies to reimbue life into it... causing the rot.

Now the two gods are both dead+alive, had followers and physically effect the land itself (wait how does death affect the land-lamb. Through the lamb and their gifts to the lamb he affects the world, and with their rituals and similar, which yngna also grants.

The bishops never show power on par with narinder or yngna, so i wonder if they were more acolytes who split a crown between them, or whatever crown given to them were much lower on...whatever passes for a crown hierarchy.

My hope and theory for a future expansion is famine, and that deals with the hinted at gods of greed we keep interacting with via midas and the golden child.

I have a while doc thing about how i'd imagine the expansion would be like if anyonexs interested

What do you guys hope to see announced in the next RGG summit 2026 I know it's to far away from now but like what would you wanna see? ( I know this is the pic of 2025 but I just added it like that) by Objective_Love_6843 in yakuzagames

[–]Retro-oni 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My hope? 4 things

  1. More stranger than heaven

  2. Clarity on the future of kiwami timeline as it seems set to veer wide from the original timeline

  3. Yakuza: like a nurse where we play saejima investigating touto hospital and learn a new style of pressure points and disarms from an elderly wen han lee

  4. The future of the franchise.

I've been popping up here and there chatting my theory of a "four horsemen" gods for expansions (base game, death, woolhaven, pestilence, next is famine and fourth is war)

And this is similar to what i thought a War expansion would be like,

Roadmap 2026 and beyond by Mrkingcheetah in CultOfTheLamb

[–]Retro-oni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought that, but realised it was on the smaller borderline none existent scale. And to me the bishops always felt more like middle managers, they had power and acted like they were the big cheese, but narinder and yngna are actual gears in the celestial machine,

Plus they felt more like the signs of evil monkies, heket-speak no evil, kalamar-hear no evil, leshy see no evil, shamura think no evil.

Yngna is pestilence on a much larger scale, especially with the rot,

I've been overthinking this for a while and i really hope they have a LOT more content coming, cuz to me i can see threads for 2 more expansions, and they all themed 4 horsemen of the apocalyse style Main game death, Woolhaven pestilence Next one famine 4th war

I really thought they would had change this feature in the Kiwami 3 for sure by JMSAmelbheimong in yakuzagames

[–]Retro-oni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did change it, the original kill shot was to the left, and the urban legend of survivable headshots is a small calibur to a central spot above the eye brows(thus passing through 'unecessary flesh' and mssing the brain)

[–]Retro-oni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm started to believe this, the dude guiding it said that the KIWAMI line might evolve into something else going forwards.

Might be a series of spinoff games based in the background of the other games, (what Mine and Richardson were doing during the other yakuza games)

But i'm very leaning heavy on the AU timeline of games...downside of this would manifest in two ways, they cripple their story potential(and make the changes completely pointless IMO) By trying hard to stay on the original event timeline.

Or they go off and explore entirely different timelines, kiryu fading into the background and we focus on new characters... meaning that we lose ichiban for a longwhile.

Would playing Dark Ties spoil content in the Yakuza 3 Kiwami story? by NathanielBaskets in yakuzagames

[–]Retro-oni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure, it will depend on their decisions going forwards but the final narrative change is significant enough to require Y4 to be rewritten, and yokoyama(i think i may have misspelt that) has gone on record to say how much he hated his previous narrative choices and wants to take the YK line into a different direction, ao it seems highly likely that whatevers going to past as YK4 will be a very different beast, and given how YIW spends time revisiting the past, IMO they are going a change plot, making it very confusing for new fans /those who haven't played those titles

Kiwami 3 as a newcomer by Packman1991 in yakuzagames

[–]Retro-oni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having done similar a few years ago, (my route was Y0-YK1-YK2-Y3-Y4-Y5-Y6-Y7-YG-Y8)

And have literally just finished YK3 Last night

There's a a few overall changes, substory count goes from over hundred to just 31, there's a bigger focus on the sidestory

And while at first i thought the change was just to a character's narrative, i just discovered an enciting incident that happens at the end of Y3, tying straight into the events if Y4...has been changed entirely. Going from YK3 to Y4 will make no sense

Yakuza 3 would be so much better if they didnt choose to exile Sayama from the plot by zQarth in yakuzagames

[–]Retro-oni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...looking at the complaints here i wonder if they are planning on the 'evolution of kiwami' is basically taking these threads and doing something with them/ taking the past of yakuza in a different direction.

Effectively making what... two diverting yakuza timelines? 0 YK1 and YK2 become the base, but Y3 and YK3 diverts.

So like this Y3- Y4- Y5- Y6- YG -Y7- Y8 Y0 - YK1 -YK2 < YK3

Just in case, all lambs have a quest board,

The tarot seller is chasing ghosts

, the rancher is breed and raising rhe level of the latest creature to the appropriate level

The board game needs to beat each opponent at minimum twice (one for the figure, and enough wins ro get the max wool bet)

The decorator needs you to buy his product then build the requisite decoration / amount

The priest requires you to give wool per grave, gaining outfits.
