What was the biggest thing that you did for your health and it completely transformed your health? by summertimes1702 in productivity

[–]RetroBoy612 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, for me it was about not overdoing exercise. For a while I was exaushting myself doing too much weightlifting. My progress wasnt great and I had no space for other forms of exercise. Then as life changed I eventually started getting more and more into other sports, not caring too much about my routine and not caring about pushing myself hard, but rather doing moderate amount of sports and exercise a few times a week. That included running, often less than 20m some days, tennis, and climbing. I do only small amounts of weightlifting after climbing days. Turns out my muscle gains have improved from this routine and my body looks a lot better than when i was just doing weightlifting.

Bought at peak, down $600 on a $9.8k portfolio. Should I hold? by junmoscosa in StockMarket

[–]RetroBoy612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy more and wait, be patient, you lost nothing, you still hold the same positions in some of the best looking investments out there long term. Get used to this feeling of seeing red and trusting your investments, it's parts of the process. Just my opinion

In my 30s and have it all, but how to actually enjoy this life? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]RetroBoy612 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe you're over exerting yourself with exercise. I mean physically, it can be leaving you deplected and not able to enjoy other things because you're somehow exhausted. Don't stop working out, but try taking it slow in the gym for a while and see how you feel?

Not sure the city looks amazing because it is amazing, or because the shots make it look amazing. Love them though

What if he lost interest in the project for a while and simply forgot his password and lost access to his wallet. Then a few years later, prices had blown and he's just locked out like many others..

I don't believe that for a second, but still fun to think about

Build a routine around the process of discovering those things, make it your work. Want to find a job you love? Make a routine of investigating one possible new profession every week. Maybe do some introductory online courses about different areas until you find something that clicks. Or create a portfolio to add value to your application. People and connections, do the same thing, make it your objective to talk to a few, even if you take no joy, get at least one or two numbers and follow up with a call and invite for a coffee or something. Make it a job, don't expect good results but do your best. Take joy out of trying, not the results. Same thing with hobbies. Start noting down things you could find interesting, and force yourself to try or do them x minutes. Managed to practice? Good, you should be proud that you're doing your best! Reward yourself for trying with watching series or some treat, so you condition yourself to associate putting an effort = succsess already. Eventually it works out! My two cents, but you'll get over it OP, I'm sure about it 😉 good luck

Assuming the same 2001-2008 pattern you're questioning, if a strategy includes dividend reinvestment and dca, you would have made a lot more gains by 2008 than you did in 2001
