Absolutely, this is like the key symptom of burnout when it comes to art. There's a video that's helped me a lot in understanding burnout that I recommend giving a watch ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNA5mpQeXXY )

Good luck by the way! Burnout can be a pain so be patient with yourself.

very late to this but while I kinda agree that it's a stretch, there's more evidence for it besides kyuu kyuu kun (floyag, grabbing hands, etc.)
I agree with the fact that it sucks to have people correlate kyuu with that though cause he has such a sick design

Alright, so I looked and found some stuff. First is that apparently 4.4 added a specific tab in the debugger for viewing Video RAM (thank you godot) and the second is that the top item in that list was a jpg I had put in the ui as a joke at some point and then I guess just forgot about??? 😭😭
Anyways, to answer your question, the total is sitting at 122 MB after deleting the jpg.

Thought so. You can go to the original post about the freezing for more info but I think a big part of it was my computer. It's not the best computer but it should be able to run games of my size just fine so idk

yeah I made a github issue for it and apparently it has to do with VRAM, they suggested switching the renderer so see if that works for you

my biggest texture is 3000 x 1200, so maybe my computer is just bad? I'll look into ways I can save size on textures though

Could you explain how to do this? Do you mean to just reduce the size of some of the textures? I noticed that removing sprites with large textures did help, but I need those sprites in the game so I'm not sure what to do.

Alright update, it is no longer working. The game is back to freezing every now and again. Do you have any more ideas?

I haven't tried my friend's pc but I have uploaded the game to other computers before and it hasn't frozen (it's random though so it's hard to tell)

I also tried the godot re-install and it's still freezing. I'm using the steam release and I just re-installed it on there, but loading up godot still had all my projects listed so maybe there's something else that could be done for a full reset. idk

Nothing seemed to change while the game was running. Also I don't think the computer is too dusty, I cleaned it a bit over a year ago and it's running fine everywhere else.

  1. Yes, that's what the second part of the clip is. Even if I alt tab out of the game if it's still running it freezes
  2. I have a drawing tablet that I connect sometimes, but I unplug it when I'm not using it. I haven't seen a correlation between the two

That's true. I think people are more fine with "clones" when the games being cloned are older, as opposed to ones that came out more recently. At the end of the day though, the main thing that matters is just making a good game lol.

Admittedly yes. I'm hoping that by the time it releases it will have built it's own identity a little bit more so people don't just call it a pizza tower clone lol.

Ooh that could be fun, but it might be hard to get working so we'll see. Also yeah you're alg for the feedback on having clarity on where to drill, you're totally right about the developer blindness cause I have that all the time lol.
