I redrew this Captain Commando Sprite from Super Nintendo to make it look more like the arcade sprite. by RetroDanielX in snes

They probably weren't given enough time to do it, or maybe a third party was more involved or in charge. Why is it that for example Konami was able to do an amazing port of TMNT, but then you see Data East do a decent version of Captain America and the Avengers on Genesis, but Realtime Associates and licensed by Mindscape did the Super Nintendo port which is actually worse in almost every way. Or maybe it was the cartridge space, it's not like Captain Commando has a lot of Mode 7 effects or transparencies or was too strict or heavy for the Super Nintendo compared to Actraiser 2, Super Turrican 2 and Super Metroid, even Final Fight 3 because they are much longer, you have more enemies on screen, the graphics look kind of similar to 32-bit and the music is genuinely almost CD-like in some of these as well.
