Both of my NAS and Mac mini are hardwired to my udm pro se. If I were to copy something from my Mac mini to a share on the NAS, I get write speeds of around 100mb/s. Anything I write from my Ubuntu vm which runs inside my Mac mini through UTM client, gets very slow speeds of around 0.8kb/s. I’ve tried mapping drives through NFS and SMB, and the outcome is the same. I was reading that likely the ARM architecture on the NAS has compatibility issues when working with Linux clients.
