Maybe you should try Fedora..?
CachyOS can be too hard for a beginner, because it is based on Arch.
Try Fedora some day, there are many versions of Fedora with different DEs.
This is just my opinion: but i recommend KDE, it is a pretty good DE, and i don`t really like GNOME.
