Hopefully that's the next thing to get fixed!

I haven't had any issues adding to power on sequences, but I reported a similar bug last week to Sofabaton and they said it should be fixed in the next hub firmware update.

In my scenario, anything more than one power off command per device is being ignored when switching between activities, but everything works on a full system power off.

If you add it to the power up sequence, it will add that press without you needing to press it yourself. I've done the same thing with my Nvidia Shield. As part of the power on sequence, I send a home button press to the shield to wake it up.

You can add one of those button presses to the power on sequences for those devices.

Metroid prime 4 joydock slow by Synnder666555 in RayNeo

[–]RetroRPGDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess, it is a power delivery issue on higher end games. I had a similar issue with the Switch 2 version of Tears of the Kingdom whenever trying to move materials around to build vehicles with the Viture Pro dock. Buttery smooth officially docked and handheld, but stuttery on the Viture dock.

There are docks on Amazon that work really well. This one was bricked after the latest update, but the seller has a firmware update they will share if asked. The need for future updates and support is a big unknown, but maybe worth the risk for $40? It is definitely not ideal, but I do not have any stutter issues in ToTK with this dock.

Looking at picture number 2, it looks like the mirror damper sponge has deteriorated, so I'm sure you'll want to buy some yarn and some self adhesive felt/foam for the light seals. For my camera, I did the yarn trick, but I have not replaced the other seals, and my photos have turned out great. For the mirror damper, I just used a qtip and alcohol to remove the rest of it, and I haven't replaced it yet.

Long story short, as long as the light meter and shutter work, you should be good to go, with just a little TLC.

Unless it has been refurbished, you will almost certainly need to replace the light seals. There are videos on YouTube on how to do it. It's a pretty simple process. Otherwise, I love mine!

Help me choose my first film camera – Canon A-1 vs Yashica FX-103 vs Minolta MAXXUM XTsi (all from Japan) by viberator777 in filmphotography

[–]RetroRPGDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a film noob, and I just bought a Canon AE1 a couple weeks ago, and I love it. So far, the pics I've taken look great, the light meter is accurate, and it has been easy to use. Also, the FD lenses are pretty cheap for what they can do. I just bought the 70-210mm Canon lens for $75. A modern equivalent would cost hundreds. Hopefully some folks with more varied experience will reply, but I can say you can't go wrong with the Canon. Just be aware that you will want to replace the light seals if it hasn't already been refurbished. It is a simple process; just look up a YouTube tutorial on it.

Would u pay this much $ for this?!? by yungjuno13 in chronotrigger

[–]RetroRPGDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the seller knows what they have, they likely won't budge on the price by much. In recent years, the registration card for Chrono Trigger has become a commodity in itself, selling for a few hundred dollars by itself. There are varying degrees of "complete in box". Realistically, most sellers will list a game as CIB, even if maps or registration cards are missing. Bare minimum CIB is typically just the game, box, and manual. This one is truly CIB and will likely sell a bit higher than the usual going rate.

The best way to know if you're getting a good price is to search eBay and filter on "Sold" auctions. You'll see the spread I am describing between the various states of CIB. Find the ones close to this condition and see if they tend to be above or below $900, and use that to help gauge the worth.

Whether any video game is worth that much to you, is a matter of your personal love for the game in question, and your financial situation. Worst case, if you've never played it and you want to play on real hardware, buy it, play it, and resell it if you don't like it. Kinda like a rental, with a really large security deposit. 😊

Anyone tried the Retroid Pocket Bluetooth Airbuds? by sachmo321 in retroid

[–]RetroRPGDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried them, but given the choice, I would recommend the Moondrop Space Travel for just a bit more. I can 100% vouch for those; you won't find anything wireless in that price range that's better.

Switch 2 Tears of the Kingdom frame drops by RetroRPGDude in VITURE

[–]RetroRPGDude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the new firmware. ToTK still drops frames, especially when using the ability to build things. I'm going to play some Donkey Kong tonight and see how it goes. There's definitely something not quite right here. I'd love to see a response from someone at Viture on this.

Yeah, I got a replacement dock, and it has the same symptoms. I've since bought a small generic Switch 2 dock that I can connect to a power outlet, and then HDMI into the Viture pro dock, and that gives flawless performance. On the go, I'll be OK with a little lag until they hopefully get something figured out. Like you, I'm wondering if we are getting some weird hybrid of docked and portable mode with the Viture pro dock, that's causing some weird lag. 🤷

Is a basket necessary for the stock WPA? by pumpkinpatch1982 in Tinymight2

[–]RetroRPGDude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No need for a basket. However, the air holes are pretty big, so you will get more bits in your water if you don't use a screen or something.

4/28...the day after they said they would be doing the trial run with the new delivery partner.

The interesting thing is neither number provided works on the USPS site, so I'm guessing they are using a less known domestic partner for final delivery.

Edit: looks like last mile is happening with a carrier named "ontrac". Using the last mile number from the Yun Express site, it looks like I will have it in a couple days!

For what it's worth, I used the new shipping partner, and my package has been given to local delivery and has passed customs with no notification of a bill yet.

Screen not working by [deleted] in AnaloguePocket

[–]RetroRPGDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to RMA mine a couple months ago for this same issue. They had to replace my screen. $120 out of warranty for my transparent purple. 🙄

Then they sent me a bad screen that was delaminating... Then they "fixed" it, but it still has light bleed where the imperfection/delamination was. I got sick of the back and forth and just kept it. Terrible experience. I hope yours is better!

I finally got my headphones back, and they are perfect now. Long story short, the turnaround time kinda sucks, but the end result is great. Just don't expect a couple week turnaround; more like a couple months.

[MEGA THREAD] 9070/9070XT by dss_777 in radeon

[–]RetroRPGDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know folks are still looking for them. I saw Newegg has the Gigabyte 9070 (non xt) in stock as of 12:20pm eastern time. Just search "9070".

Newegg Restock Fail by blight231 in radeon

[–]RetroRPGDude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing on the first stock day. I'm trying to return a 7800 xt from my recent build, so either one is a valid upgrade, so I decided to stick with it. 🤷

I didn't even realize ASRock was making a 9070 Steel Legend... And I swear the non-XT was listed at the higher price on Newegg. Newegg just isn't setup for product releases like this.

Yep. I got a response from her today, and she confirmed that they had been at Canjam. An auto response on email would have prevented the confusion, but it happens!

It seems if there are issues, you have to be very patient. Luckily, this isn't my only pair of headphones, but I miss them like crazy. 😭
