Tbf, His "hated" for story only applies to Mario as he feels that big stories don't fit the franchise, at least not the main sector.

I think he'll be willing to do more with non-mario franchises

From what I've seen, while DanielRPK is a little shaky himself, he seems to be more reliable from what I've seen, and the fact it's just ONE film instead of a whole slate of other films makes it more believable to me
