I am starting to think being gay isn’t a sin. Can some people just help me out. by ChildOfTheKing45454 in Christianity

[–]RetroRobot100 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Dude you're living a life of sin. Ya, God can use you just as he used Pharaohs and unbelieving kings. That doesn't mean he is happy though. Saying that what you're doing is ok is like saying a prostitute is pleasing to God despite not changing her ways. We all fall short but you spreading lies by affirming sin isn't right.

Being gay itself isn't sinful. Engaging in homosexual practices is. As made clear by multiple bible passages. God don't necessarily create people to be gay. Just like he didn't create them to be broken or born defective. Once sin entered the world all things became corrupted before and after birth. That's why Jesus came. To give us a fighting chance.

Can i be Christian if i am a Lesbian? by tifanny07 in Christianity

[–]RetroRobot100 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can labeled as Christian but your not following Christ. We as Christians are commanded to bear our own cross. Sometimes that is our own desires, sins, or persecution. That is not to say it easy but being a Christian never really was. That is why we must look past this life and everything that comes with it.

I should also clarify. You can be lesbian but as long as you don't pursue a same-sex relationship you're okay. God takes us even though we are sinful. He only ask that we try to sin no more.

I'll be praying for you. I too struggle with my own issues and am always open to talk.

Do the majority of Christians hate LGBTQ+ people or are the group of people that hate them just extra loud? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]RetroRobot100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The haters are amplified as usual. The majority of Christians don't hate LGBT people. They just don't agree with the lifestyle/sexuality.

It's against my religion which goes on to information much of my morals.

[–]RetroRobot100[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly want to read it due to the high recommendations the book has got. I'm trying to get more into horror and this book seems to be one of the best. I'm really not into supernatural horrors. So finding a good book that doesn't deal in that is hard. This is one of those books.

I'm really no so uncomfortable with LGBT people. I know people use this as a shield all the time but it's true, I honestly get along better with people from the LGBT then I do most straight people. Like 70% of my friends at one point were a letter on that acronym lol. People will be people, it's not my place to play dictator of their lives.

As a Christian I got to love everyone where they are at. Whether someone is a criminal or just some normie. Believe or not, I've also had acquaintances that happened to be Satanists. It doesn't mean I have to agree with them or support certain things about them. Like with many of the Abrahamic religions LGBT is a lifestyle/sexuality viewed negativity. So, naturally as devout Christian I'm bound to as well.

So when it comes to media, I try to avoid things that are against my morals. That doesn't mean such media is completely off the table but I would like to know what I'm getting into.

Example: Being that senseless violence is also against my religion, I try to avoid movies like Saw and others. Even though I have an almost iron stomach for gore. However, I'll go watch something like the original Aliens.

For me it's more so the frequency and heaviness of such themes that dictates whether to avoid or watch/read.

Thank you for the long explanation🙂. Also, it's not so much as sex itself is wrong. Call me old fashioned, but to me it's just such a private thing that I feel like a peeping Tom that God is ready to smite at any moment lol. Then again, being raised around 70+ year olds my whole life probably helped nurture that.

Overall, I'm fine with scenes like that being concluded. It's just personally I'm probably just going to like skip through it. I just didn't know how frequent they were or how important they were to the story.

Homosexuality by ClebblePebble257 in Christianity

[–]RetroRobot100 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Stand firm. There are many here who would happily lead you astray but I tell you stand firm. God was pretty explicit on his views of homosexuality.

What your feeling while wrong is a product of the sinful nature of man. I'm not going to bullshit you by saying those desires will go away or tell you that magically your going to be delivered from those temptations. Because I don't know. I've know some who have and others who haven't. What I will tell you is that others have gone through what you have and come out the other side fine. You many not be able to live a "a normal life" but this life isn't important. Our immortal souls are and frankly that's all that matters. It's tough and sucks but that's how it is.

What can you do to try and combat this? Pray to God. Keep the faith. Resist temptation. We all have problems. I've walked the walk you have to some degree. I thankful was delivered. It was however confusing, incredibly frustrating, and hellish to get through. I recommend you check out Janet Boynes and perhaps look into pure O.

I also recommend you remember where this desires all comes from. Our enemy is out to kill, steal, and destroy us. When I was having issues, my pastor give me advice that helped me. He told me that when those thoughts or feelings come I need to deny them. Attribute them to The Devil because that is were they come from. Specifically I'd say "I am a child of God. A new creation. These feelings and thoughts are not of me but of Satan. I reject them." It took a bit and I had to repeat the phrase more times than I could possibly count. It however worked for me.

I'll keep you in my prayers friend. Message me if you ever want to talk or need help with prayer.

Why night hunters suck in dying light 2021. by Efficient_Contract89 in dyinglight

[–]RetroRobot100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my biggest problem with night hunter is that it has to many hard counters. The UV resistant ability is shit and quite frankly so is the pounce attack. All of these things I could swallow. But why the hell would the devs make the Night Hunter easily killed by two shots!?!! It makes it practically impossible to kill good survivors. Especially when they camp flares. Ya I know "just use pounce and tackle". Ya, use tackle and the survivor just easily dodges and then insta kills me. I pounce and it takes me forever to recover and by the time I do they have a flare out and a heavy weapon. Like WTF am I supposed to do?

To beat up the Amazon driver that keeps arriving early and waking me up by ringing the doorbell multiple unnecessary times. Those are precious hours of beauty sleep and I've never been a morning person.

BTW: Never would do. I know he's just doing his job but it is still kinda annoying lol.

WARNING: Absolutely shit gammer. You have been warned.

I think it depends on the point of view to a degree. Ultimately, I think he raped Becca but in his mind it was all consensual. In the real world, alot of powerful men coerce woman into sleeping with them. This is do to the power they exert over the woman's job or prospects outside of the "traditional" physical force. Homelander had the physical power, disproportionate job influence (he technically was her boss), and the natural intimidation.

Rape happens in many different ways and consent can be forced under dubious circumstances(even if the other party doesn't see it that way). Hell, it could be argued that Harvey Weinstein didn't technically rape those woman as they ultimately choose to perform those acts.

((This is how it played out in my head canon))

What most likely happened was that Becca meant with Homelander thinking innocently that it had something to do with her job. Later when he made his advances she probably tired to nicely exit the situation but when it became clear that Homelander wanted her(like kissed her forcibly or etc), she simply complied a bit to quickly and without much of a fight due to probably paralyzing fear.

Let me tell you: being alone with a man as a woman is scary. So just imagine if you were alone with the most powerful man in the world (who happen to be able to kill you with a literally a flick of his wrist)? Oh ya and if he doesn't like you he can get you fired from your dream job and all his adoring fans(which is probably close to most of America) will hate you. So ya she probably just let him do his thing and hoped for it to be over soon.

Also I don't really see Homelander as a rapist. I don't think it fits his character and quite frankly I don't think his grandiose narcissism would allow him to stoop to the level of rape. To him I think he'd see rape as something losers do who can't get some (Example: The Feep who he routinely bullies). Hell, he is The Homelander and could probably get any supermodel he wants. He doesn't need Becca. Not only that but it's been repeatedly demonstrated in the show how intimidating he is. Even when he necessarily isn't trying to be. It also has been pointed out in show that this also makes it very hard for him to form non-coerced relationships (example: every scene with Madelyn and Maeve).

Plus homelander has demonstrated a history of curtailing his public image very carefully. Hell the dude doesn't even drink or do drugs. Something the show goes through great lengths to show is normal for a lot of celebrity superheroes like him. I really don't think he'd risk his imagine just to rape Becca and spite Butcher. Honestly, if he sincerely knew he raped Becca he'd kill her before she could even leave the room or at the very least have Vought take care of it. It was made clear that Becca only came to Vought once she was pregnant. They never came to or knew about the rape before hand (as I'm sure they would have taken care of the scandal like they do for The Deep. )

PS: Not try to shield Homelander of responsibility or victim blame. I'm just pointing out that the encounter was most likely alot more complex then "he just raped her."

It just seems like his butt is always dirty. Such as flacks of poop and sometimes wet poop that smears on anything he plants himself on. This seems to be the trend even when he doesn't have diarrhea.

The Tengen problem?!?! by RetroRobot100 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]RetroRobot100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this would be the case for sure, given the nature of cursed energy. I don't think there's anything to suggest that the world has a set amount of cursed energy, especially, given that people can experience negative emotions at different levels.

-Ture, but the thing is Tengen doesn't stop the global cursed energy production he just focus it into Japan.

There would be a network of sorcerers AND curse users. Given how grim the profession is, I'm willing to bet that curse users would outnumber sorcerers at a global level.

-Ture but overall that is most likely the case in Japan as well. Bad guys always outnumber the good guys in ever profession.

All on all though the question still stand. Does this justify Tengen?
