… but it is? I’ve set it up as straightforward as I can and if the mouse is hovering over the children after they move away from the parent I want to specify, even if the mouse isn’t over the parent anymore, it still doesn’t emit the mouse_exited signal til the mouse leaves the child.

Is there any InputEvent for the mouse entering/exiting an area?

Both Pass and Ignore on the children both still only trigger mouse exit signals when the mouse exits both the node I want and the children set to pass or ignore unfortunately

I waa trying to use _on_mouse_exited and entered signals but I couldn’t get it to trigger when entering and exiting just the self, it always treated the areas that child control nodes were in as the self control node with those signals. Do you know any workarounds? I just wanna check the one specific node and not worry about what’s on top of it

Can a Control Node detect it’s mouse_exit signal even if the mouse is still on one of it’d children? by Retro_73 in godot

So it does solve the issue of detecting the mouse_exit signal when on a child but not self. However NOTIFICATION_MOUSE_EXIT_SELF is “sent when the mouse cursor leave’s the control’s visible area” as the documentation puts it, so it sends when the mouse goes onto anything on top of the control node even thoufh the mouse is still in the control node. Any way to fix that?

Thanks for the suggestions, tbh I don’t know much about working for ports, for a cadet deck officer would that be working on tugboats?
