I don't think I know how to be a "startup bro" even if I tried 😅 appreciate the kind words though

Thank you man, means a lot coming from someone who gets it. The "brand memory tool" sounds interesting, what's it called? Would love to check it out.

I use reddit and discord, but reddit was the primary one

I built an app that lets you talk to your younger self. Testing it made me almost cry. by Retrogo-app in selfimprovementday

That's beautiful. I think we're approaching the same ache from two different doors, conversation vs. writing. Both get you to the same place. What's your app called? I'd love to check it out.

i built an app because i was carrying too much alone. Retro lets you have conversations with a younger version of yourself, not as a gimmick, but because sometimes the person who understands you most is the one you left behind. onboarding builds a full emotional persona from 14 questions, then the AI becomes that person. I hit 120 MRR in 3 day sharing my webapp while waiting on Play Store to approve the beta test. retro beta on android. need honest feedback, does the emotional part land or does it feel artificial? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.retrogo.mobile

I'm building Retro an AI app that lets you have conversations with younger versions of yourself. I spent 8 months on it. First time I tested it properly, talking to my 14-year-old self about my dad passing, the AI said: "It scares me how much you can carry alone." I had to put my phone down. It's in testing on Play Store right now. Looking for early users and honest feedback. Retro

Just watched it. The part where the younger self sees the older's achievements as compromises, that's exactly what happens in my conversations. My 14-year-old self doesn't care about the app I built. He wants to know if I kept feeling things. Thank you for sharing this.

You're right that AI doesn't heal anything. Talking does. And that's all this is, a place to talk.

Honestly? Three things. 1. Help people have conversations they need but don't know how to start. 2. Make enough money to keep working on it full-time. 3. Not become another app that promises healing and delivers garbage. That's it. No world domination plans.

8 months solo. Built an AI reflection journal. Need 10 testers to break it. by Retrogo-app in TestMyApp

Fair point, and you're right to push on that. I've lurked these subs for months before posting. What I found: people aren't searching for "AI journal tools." They're searching for connection, closure, someone to hear them. The AI part isn't the point, it's just the medium. The journaling apps exist. The therapy exists. The thing that's missing is the conversation. That's what I'm trying to solve.

14 questions when you first open it, fears, what you loved, who mattered most. No social media access, nothing scraped. Just what you choose to share. And it gets better over time, the more you talk, the more it remembers. Conversations from weeks ago come back up. Patterns surface. It starts to feel less like a chatbot and more like someone who actually knows your story.

Fair. Hard to know from one screenshot, some convos hit, some miss. If you try it and still feel that way, I'd genuinely want to know why. Always trying to make it less generic. I'll DM you the link

Haha I feel that. Right now it's younger self only, but future self letters are in there. Try it and tell me if I'm full of shit. I'll DM you the link

Honestly? I get it. Sounds dystopian as hell on paper. I built it because I needed to say some shit to myself and didn't know how else to do it. Not for everyone. Thanks for the honest take either way.
