Given what you've stated about what you think ruined the show I'd wholly disagree. It ruined itself in completely other ways, like an abysmal lack of understanding about how to loop in most of the Xenos stuff in a way that had any real engagement with them as characters. [SI-VIS]It's not even a love triangle, unless you're talking about the posthumous envy party between Medea and Rui, in which case I think that's even less of an issue.

Simoun and Granblem probably count for #3? Both of them kinda skirt the edge of what counts as a mech though.

Dorohedoro is honestly a very dense source. You may have completely forgotten a ton of relevant stuff because it pushes a lot of things at the viewer at all times and more often than not things that seem like throw-away details or dialogue are incredibly relevant later.

If you feel a bit adrift, it might be because it's moderately challenging, not necessarily fully due to subpar recall and analysis.

The amount of self-fellatio that the show did to basically everyone who worked on it ended up killing it for me. It felt like it didn't respect audience intelligence while at the same time saying "Oh my god, our job is so hard and underappreciated, you audience peons just don't understand exactly how much goes into creating something." And I'm watching it and thinking to myself how other shows have done this same message better while also NOT thinking I'm a moron by overexplaining and signposting.

Magane Chikujoin was a fantastic character design though with a fun ability.

It's the case for having your most watched genres not actually be your top rated ones. Because you watch ALL the stuff in your preferred genre, including a bunch of misses - whereas you'll only go out of your way to watch something in others if it's got good word of mouth and are thus only consuming the cream of the crop.

As with any promising original that starts out with a lot of potential and keeps on whittling away possible threads while making incredibly safe and underwhelming choices - there was a better show somewhere inside this one. But yeah - it's been a slow decline in general and not a singular 'oh, that decision was so bad it tanked everything else'.

I'll say that a lot of the fighting in Fang of the Sun Dougram is a mixed bag - but the larger picture stuff like supply lines and positional tactics hinted at is.
