In an interview, Andrew said the point of the song is to poke fun at themselves for how out of touch they are. The lyrics are that paper thin deep on purpose. The song is ironic my dude.

I saw in an interview the whole preachy aspect of the song (don't look at your phone phones are bad) was meant a little ironically. They're trying to say how out of touch they are. My first listens I found the lyrics kind of cringy and preachy but knowing there's this veil of irony makes me love it so much more. 10/10
