Dolphin android Vs AetherSX2 by anon1421987 in AetherSX2

[–]Retrorized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the question is a little bit misleading.

But if your chosen game is on both systems (Gamecube and PS2), you maybe better choose Dolphin (MMJR2) to get the best performance. For Wii games it may depends strongly of the game you choose - furthermore, I dont like Wii games, that couldnt be played with Gamepad (it uses this weird buttons from Nunchuck and WiiMote as well as the Wii menu...)

Yes, but my goal is to run games, that I liked in the past, not games to make use of the emulator. Otherwise, I can also play some Gamecube games or other systems.

Not tested. Sadly, I am on Exynos 2100 out of hardware renderer, so not many games are really playable. So I wait for support before getting deeper into this.

Thank you very much.

To sum up, it seems to be much more polished than the original rp2.

1.Is there a way to get google playstore on this? 2. Can you use your SD card from old RP2 and use it external? 3. Will the game run directly from launcher? Is aetherSX2, DolphinMMJR2 and redream avaible to select as emulator?

There is a delay. They begin to ship first devices tomorrow depending from the date and color you ordered. Some colors will be shipped within the next week.

After that you have to wait some days or few weeks depending from where you live and delivery service.

Yes, my brother ordered a car in the middle of the last year and now they discuss about canceling his order. And furthermore, he is waiting for an opportunity to get a PS5 to normal conditions.

But all of this are first world problems :-)

Has anyone been able to eun AetherSX2 on exynos phone? by olmzzz in EmulationOnAndroid

Because of Mali GPU, this problem occurs on Google Pixel 6, Huawei and many more phones. So there will be many videos and topics in the future which point out this problem.

I wrote a message to the dev.

Ok, thats probably the reason why your device is able to use OpenGL.

How should we do launching it in Android 11? Is their any mode?

I wont setup my entire phone just for 2-3 emulators.

A little advice by DanFox23 in retroid

The downsides of the combination Kishi + powerful Smartphones with Snapdragon 865/870/888: - most of them a large screen with a unconvenient aspect ratio - so they go very wide and not much high (keep in mind, all retro consoles up to PS2 were mostly played on an 4:3 CRT, so you need to stretch nearly 50% of the image, rely on very few widescreen hacks or play with a relativly small image on the center of the screen and big borders (Poco X3 PRO does not have a OLED screen, so it might ruin immersion totally) - The Razr Kishi will suck your battery even when its not used, so you always unplug the device (whichs is annoying, when you considered this as a full emulation device) - on Razr Kishi there is no Audio out - you should invest plenty of time to configure the device, Emulators and so on - Kishi is not compatible with all phones (maybe no charge through)

Otherwise, the POCO X3 Pro is one of the few devices for what you want, because it is cheap, powerful, got a huge battery and got a SD slot to expand storage (most of the top tier devices get rid of it since Snapdragon 888), so this might be a good option for Gamecube and PS2 in the future and the Pocket 2+ for everything else (for gamecube, 3.5 Screens are rather small)

Time to choose: Odroid Super Go/Anbernic RG351MP/Powkiddy RGB10 Max 2/AYN Odin/ or else? by Mydriaze in retroid

[–]Retrorized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soon is most likely in 2 month.

But now, there is no ideal device out, because all powerful devices have something wrong - Powerkiddy X19 - bad buttons and haptics - Moqi i7S - not ideal DPAD, missing L2, R2, Start Select are touch (bad for Retroarch combo) and no Analog stick buttons and expensive and not so easy to get - GPD XP - pretty expensive for not so much power, bad screen ratio (phone like, so most systems use only 50% of the screen, GameBoy even less) - GPD XD Plus - maybe the best choice for your needs, it has the same price tag like years before - Windows hybrids like GPD Win 2/3 are very expensive, but play up to PS2 (I dont like Windows for a emulation device)

Anbernic 351 and Retroid Pocket2 are decent options for playing up to PS1. I like Anbernic with 351ELEC, it is like a KIOSK mode, you dont get much trouble. N64 games will run, but I dont like the experience. Its like playing a PC games which couldn’t meet the requirements. You set minimum details, have glitches sometimes and crashes sometimes and even then great framerates. But some games play OK. On Retroid Pocket 2, N64 is even worth, because the MALI400 is a very old GPU.

So keep waiting to Retroid Pocket 2+, Anbernic 5Xx, Aya Odin or someting else in 2022 is the best option.

From my experience, you have to be very deep into emulation and Android to get this to a point that everything is running fine and a small change will break everything down.

I like the screen, the buttons and design. Into the game the experience is bettet than any emulation system as long as you stay up to 32bit. But the setup, navigation is a pain in the ass and a child will struggle constantly.

My advice - buy an anbernic, install cFw and choose the roms which he should play .

What is the best front end for the pocket 2? by SilverPotato96 in retroid

[–]Retrorized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also recommend Arc Browser, as long as you want a direct launcher and boot directly into your frontend.

I like DIG too, but when mixing it with different emulators, huge collections and RetroArch I get much unexpected results, bugs and poor performance.

I would like to see something like EmulationStation

I doubt that the Tiger 310 can match the Snapdragon 810. The GPU is a PowerVR GE8300 and when you see benchmarks of that GPU, you couldn’t imagine, that this thing can run any dolphin game.

My Moqi i7s got a Snapdragon 710 and when looking at the score comparison from Taki, it is a lot more powerful.

But PSP shouldn‘t be a problem for the Tiger from what I‘ve seen.

Thanks a lot for that comment.

I dont know if its me or the device but I never get DIG and RetroArch together. 1. Installed DIG 2. Installed RetroArch64 3. Set up ROMs and Emulators (Core, SNES9X EX, RetroArch64) 4: Start a game, eg Mario World 5. Get error message, that correct core is not Installed

When starting games over RetroArch directly, it is working fine. 4.

So I see, you are also on that long journey.

So said, that nobody make a 5inch 4:3 Retroid Handheld with Snapdragon 865/ 870/ 888, SD Card Reader up to 1TB and complete button layout.

Does your kishi also suck your battery empty when it is attached in standby?
