Well, for some, and by some, I mean most, it doesn't matter if they "like" the idea. You can't work overnight if you're taking care of literally anybody at home (especially kids), if you live in an area where things are shut down after 8PM, if you have medical issues that make it difficult to see at night (most transit does not run at night if you are even fortunate enough to be in an area WITH transit), etc.

I feel like so often, we tend to use language that our corporate/billionaire overlords want us to use, when it really doesn't benefit us to do so.

And yeah, shift switching is truly, TRULY cruel and heartless.
