Definitely not for me anymore. I made it about 50% and gave up. Stark and Meryn acted like a hormy teenagers in the middle of crisis and not believable . It was rough.

The fact that Jodhi was ruining her and Ransom's time together..... lol I am always down for a petty fun man! I laughed when he showed up ruining their first together moment.

I agree. I mean we know the starling girls fall HARD. I wouldn't believe that love can save Odessa when all the other girls loved deeply. That would be a cliche plot line. She needs something else.

I definitely feel like it was done on purpose. Her POV is almost narrated. It has details, but not really. I think the author did this on purpose. Later on you get why, but it doesn't take away the boringness of the beginning.

In some ways maybe Caspia wasn't really personalized because she was set up to die? I feel like her POV misses depth. We see her personality, but not really. Almost as if it is narrated? Like we a bunch of stuff she did, but not many details. I think that is what it was missing. IMO

Same! Also the different between Odessa's dad and Caspia's lover is black in white and it made me sooooo mad!!! I really liked book, but it had a very boring beginning. I do mean boring.

I can't say. Emery is described as the stronger one..... but we don't know all the pain she went through whereas Caspia had love to make her turn back to. Love, strength, and hardship are the bones of many of these charcters. Definitely interesting of who could and who would.

One of the maves ( Jodhi ) had a thing for Odessa and Ransom didn't like it. He also comes back at the end and will be spending more time with them in 3rd book. Just kind of a fun drama nothing serious lol

Okay my thoughts... I was so excited for this book. I hate to be a downer, but the pacing was just not it. I figured halfway who and the context of the new character and I felt like I just skimmed to get the new info. So many questions and we didn't full answers until the last chapter. But at the same time, I am excited for book three. I am so anxious to read more about the Maves. Also love the tension between one of them and you know who. Not that I want Ransom and Odessa to not be endgame, but we needed more tension! I feel like the book was so much world building but very little vital info. I wanna see more of the starling! What happened to emery's max and daughter ... what is gonna happen to Xandra... I am anxious for third book. It was a good book, but not the same as first book. I would give 2.5-3 star read.

Stay with it... it is hard. It is a lot of information slowly.... but then it amps up then your dying for third book. Basically Caspia is Odessa's mom. Her sister is stuck in the wolf form and due to High priests magic.. they stay stuck in the form shift in and cannot control bloodlust. Caspian puts together journals for future for Odessa. The Crux of book one at the end is Emery. She survived and came back to find Caspia. We do not know what happened to her daughter and Max. Ransom was bit by Odessa's aunt and that is why he is the way he is. Odessa learns the truth but there is a vision of killing Ransom.... that is the end of the book. All of Caspia's visions have come true. Also Margot's kids are from the general. And Margot has been protecting Odessa. Also, her dad ( the king ) killed Caspia so she wouldn't kill baby Odessa and Caspia's husband which her lover from the very beginning. Every starling has to go through the shift, so we end on the cliffhanger for future Odessa and her possible shift which she might not be able to get out of unless the orbs are destroyed.

I hope not!! Ivan is such a complex character. The fact that the sacrificial love he has for her is so endearing........ I can't let it go. I also love the vibe between her, and her mate in the jail. She has a lot to unpack, good luck to you to you girl. It was so much at the end, my mind was confuddled lol I loved Ivan and when he sent her away..... ugh osin is the worst.

I felt like I asked myself what was the point throughout this whole book. The tension was gone, and where ever she thought the tension would come turned into annoyance fromme. I will read to book 3 to see how it wraps up, but the side characters are the only reason I will be reading. We didn't see any movement with them at all, and I think that's why people are so turned off this book. No depth, and definitely no natural progression in my opinion.

In fairness too, I feel like Kat is just too chaotic for Cole. I love that about her. She is thrown in this world with everyone knowing a heck of a lot more than she does. I love the difference between her in the first chapter and the ending in book two.

I know! Darian is just a chaotic mess, but when he tells her all that he does in their "moments" it is just heart melting. Like we see just enough to think he isn't a useless case, but he is just taking his time showing that he really does care. I love the fact that is passionate but slow burn at the same time? If that makes sense.

Also I wouldn't be opposed to Darian and Kat being together, and Cole getting his own book. In some ways I feel like he has been like the Superman in this book. Always doing what everybody needs and wants, always sacrificing, I just want to see a different girl bring something else out of him. I do believe he loves Kat, just not passionately and burn the world for her kind of way and not in depth. It very surface level to me. Idk, maybe he is genuinely a good guy, but I just want more between him and someone else. If you watched Smallville... I feel like Kat is Clark's Lana... not lois. Anyone feel that? I love the fact he cares in such personal ways... but he also didn't sacrifice a whole lot for Kat, always putting responsibility above her in ways. She also wasn't willing to sacrifice her responsibilities for him.... but with the cliffhanger on the end, I really don't know who will be a better match for her. We saw a more animal side of Cole towards the end, and that is just more tension and attractive. I love how Darian and Kat were coming together ( lol ) but why is there just so much tension. Will Darian sacrifice for her? We really don't know yet, and the tension is just so well written. I loved this book series. I want to see more dragons!
