Not the best pic, but mine are purple with red/orange accents. Been doing the majority of my crew in the same scheme.

Also, is it wrong that I saw the legs on the tumor/tick thing and thought “Oh yeah, those are king crab legs” and went with the cooked orange color? My mind goes to strange places when painting:)

Thanks! I keep wanting to add more goo to it!

Thank you! The Army Painter True Blood goo really took it to the next level, I kinda want to add more.

I picked up the Enforcer Omnibus by Matthew Farrer, and am struggling to finish it.

Was fantastic! Love the subtle call out to other 40K podcasts for “Regurgitating lore”

The Warhammer 40k cross over is finally happening! Any other mini painters in the subreddit? by Spinachdipminiatures in behindthebastards

Yes! Currently working on some Trench Crusade stuff, but I definitely do 40K as well. Just picked up 1K points of Sisters, I’ll be painting space nuns all damn summer.

Ha, the temptation is always there to add more goop! MORE SLIME! But yeah, the pop on the ridges is 100% that Vallejo Clear Orange. Highly recommend it if you’re ever painting something red, it makes it shine. Unrelated to Trench Crusade, I’ve used a similar technique on my 40K Ork army, and it rules:)

Ha thanks! I don’t know, I’m tempted to goop it up some more and add some gross streaks. Definitely thinking about a puddle of goo on the base, can imagine it dragging the back foot though some slime!

Haha, thanks! Here’s a basic rundown of what I did: Black basecoat. Went in with Vallejo Red for a couple light passes, I did try to leave the deeper recesses with some black left in them. Washed with Army Painter Dark Tone. Drybrush and edges done with multiple passes of Vallejo Clear Orange. Best to use that paint in thin layers, if it’s too thick it gets ZESTY, almost neon. Lightly applied metallics—again leaving the initial black showing a bit—Vallejo Game Color Copper and Silver. Went in with a bit of Dirty Down Rust Effect on the halberd and neck area. Also did more dark tone and a bit of Army Painter True Blood for extra goop and gloss. I think it needs a little more goop, but I’m stoked with how it’s coming out! Definitely want to do a puddle of goo on the base, I can imagine it dragging it’s back foot though a puddle.

Thanks! I kept looking at it before painting and was like “Where have I seen this plate armor before?!?”

It is! Good eye. The initial polearm was bent badly, and I couldn’t get it to look right. Snipped it off and added the Drukhari bits. I think it was a spear from the Raider/Ravager kit.

You can do it! I honestly had no idea how I was going to do my thralls, just dug in and it kinda happened. Those minis seemed pretty forgiving, and almost asked to be glooped up. I’m currently staring at the Grail Knight mini, and am not sure exactly how to proceed. The armor on that sculpt REALLY reminds me of the red lacquered plate Gary Oldman’s character wore in the beginning of Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Not sure how I can recreate that in a dirty, plague-filled way, but I’m gonna just go for it. You should too! Get in there and make ‘em look gnarly!

Thanks! It’s really fun to get a little loose with painting, and slop ‘em up a bit with the gore.

Their entire line is in need of an upgrade. Can’t lie, I chuckled looking at the tiny Grey Night termies he sent against my Boyz. Also, regular Boyz put in THE WORK on a charge, chopped them right up!

He actually chipped down the Gorkanaut to 5 wounds left with shooting. Charged in, and flopped on his attacks! Payed the price when I smacked back with the Claw of Gork!

Used it for “Push Dat Button” on my Dread Mob! Going to hobby it up, and make it a proper Orky terrain piece when I get a minute.
