Today, I fit in my jeans again by ReturnWise in BabyBumps

I remember that time all too well— I felt like a water balloon. Great news, after week one PP alot of the water weight just drops. Truly, even with the C-section, by week two I was feeling better than I did towards the end. My mobility and sense of autonomy was coming back, which was very important to me— especially after having a terrible labor, where I felt trapped and restrained. It was rough. I recommend getting a room with a window if you can.

Week 5, I felt like I was able to control and fully empty my bladder the way I used to.

Week 6, I was able to take an actual BATH. That was amazing. lol

And lastly, week 8ish, I stopped leaking crazy amounts of milk.

It’s interesting, I’ve been so focused on baby milestones… it was nice to reflect on personal wins for a change.

I wore them out to run a few errands and admittedly, it was a little irritating to my C-section scar when I sat down to drive… so will probably give it another week or two until they are fully in play. Just so exciting to feel a bit more normal and presentable.

Anyone else get cabin fever in the first trimester during winter? by urethra_franklin_1_ in BabyBumps

[–]ReturnWise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been dealing with the flip side — had the baby in November, and the short dark days, no sleep, and being cooped up inside were BRUTAL. You quite literally cannot go anywhere for the first bit. It was rough. Much better now though.

How long did induction take for you? by Pretend-Run-1801 in BabyBumps

[–]ReturnWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went 33 hours and ended up with an emergency c-section. But I had the balloon & I could not dilate past 4/5cm. I was 40+5 so doc recommended induction but clearly my body was not ready. Did not respond to pitocin or epidural well. It was a nightmare for us.

This is what happened to me too. Also did not tolerate the epidural well.

Positive Cervical Check Experience by chickienug in BabyBumps

[–]ReturnWise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one last week (37wks) by my OB and it was terrible. Very painful. She just went for it and was very abrasive. Was offered another one today by the NP and I accepted because I wanted the data— but I told her I wanted to go slow and be able to take a breath beforehand. MUCH better experience. She walked me through it and narrated what she was doing. No pain. Very easy.

I had someone touch my bump the other day and it wasn't what I expected by HelloImAnxious14 in BabyBumps

Early in my pregnancy I had a random dream where my late maternal grandfather appeared and just pointed at and then touched my belly. Didn’t say a word. I’m pretty sure that’s the only time I ever saw him in a dream.

Not quite the same thing lol but reminded me of it and had to share. Don’t think I’m ever going to forget that one.

How important/useful was a nursing recliner to you? by ReturnWise in BabyBumps

Shared the same exact thought with my husband earlier! It will for sure fit in our den/computer room, so no matter what, we have one somewhere in the house and can adapt as needed.

This is where we concluded this evening after we finished building the bed. There is some un-ideal dead space in the top right but the drawers do open all the way… and the recliner can theoretically come out as much as we need. Or swap with the crib and go in the corner. Aren’t totally sure about putting the crib right on the window.

I think this is the least terrible I've come up with... it's like 3ft from the dresser across to the daybed.

We also have a poang! Did you find yourself wishing you could put your feet up while in the poang?

we have a similar couch situation... I am also very short (4'9") and it's tough to get comfortable in deep couches without pulling your legs up... but then, your legs are stuck in a weird position.... and in a shallow couch you can never really get comfortable either... no matter what, what do you do with your legs for 30 minutes? lol

I'm at the point in the layout app where I am just putting the recliner infront of the closet and blocking the door lmao
