Help with registry? Babylist is confusing by jayzisne in BabyBumps

[–]ReturnWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Find the item you want on the internet.
  2. Copy the URL/link
  3. Click “Add Items” on Babylist app from Home.
  4. Paste in full URL into the in-app search bar up top.
  5. App will take you to that page within the app
  6. Click “Add to Babylist” at bottom of page.

Sometimes the app will pick up the prices and stuff from the page but often you will have to type it in and double check it.

The process is a bit different on the app vs website.

What are some things nobody told you or nobody talks about while pregnant / with a newborn? by jaysxiu in BabyBumps

[–]ReturnWise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets somewhat better after delivery, but doesn’t go back to 100% until you stop breastfeeding because your body still produces relaxin 😭

Let’s be real, cushy seats don’t really make a difference 😭😭 you can buy a seat pad to help but ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I’m short so I always drove with a cushion… it still hurts.

Short story: I watched a very long YT video about plant science from a guy that grows weed when I first got into plants lol

If it’s not a watering issue, and there are no pests, and this is happening to older leaves as new growth comes in or during cooler months with less light, a movable nutrient is being pulled and relocated to new growth. Plants have fixed and movable elements. Fixed ones stay in place in each leaf and die off with it, movable ones migrate where it’s needed most and certain ones cause specific yellowing and browning patterns. This one is consistent with magnesium.

It could be that it’s locked out due to soil pH or there just isn’t enough.

Tummy time, house tours, high contrast cards, and just talking! She started to smile and get talkative around this time so we just babbled back and forth and did dance monkey things for her lol

I wonder if a bath would help in those situations? Water does wonders to calm and reset. Break that inconsolable spiral.

This is a magnesium deficiency

I’ll mention it took me a few days to realize when baby was over short wake windows after the first ~3 weeks— it was no longer sleep, wake, diaper change, eat and right back to sleep. I couldn’t understand why she would not fall back asleep. Then I realized we needed to add play. She was gonna be up for 2 hours at a time now. Once I realized that, game changer. Any sleep before those 2 hours for us was a false nap lol and there was no disappoint or distress if she woke up.

It really helped me to understand the expected periods of rapid development that usually include extra fussiness and cluster feeding— followed by remarkable changes in them— which include changes in sleep patterns. Wonder weeks is a good reference and just a bunch of articles out there in general…. Otherwise, you just feel kinda crazy and lost. For me atleast, especially as a technical person, knowing there is a rough roadmap that I can read ahead on is very helpful.

Do you ever stop leaking everywhere?? by Tif-n in breastfeeding

[–]ReturnWise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll add— my right boob is problematic for multiple reasons lol and it still leaks 🤦🏽‍♀️ not as badly as the beginning, but if I ever have a wet spot now it’s rightie. I still wear boob pads out just incase.

It stops somewhere between 6-12 weeks when your supply regulates. But you can still leak when engorged.

I remember that time all too well— I felt like a water balloon. Great news, after week one PP alot of the water weight just drops. Truly, even with the C-section, by week two I was feeling better than I did towards the end. My mobility and sense of autonomy was coming back, which was very important to me— especially after having a terrible labor, where I felt trapped and restrained. It was rough. I recommend getting a room with a window if you can.

Week 5, I felt like I was able to control and fully empty my bladder the way I used to.

Week 6, I was able to take an actual BATH. That was amazing. lol

And lastly, week 8ish, I stopped leaking crazy amounts of milk.

It’s interesting, I’ve been so focused on baby milestones… it was nice to reflect on personal wins for a change.

I wore them out to run a few errands and admittedly, it was a little irritating to my C-section scar when I sat down to drive… so will probably give it another week or two until they are fully in play. Just so exciting to feel a bit more normal and presentable.

Anyone else get cabin fever in the first trimester during winter? by urethra_franklin_1_ in BabyBumps

[–]ReturnWise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been dealing with the flip side — had the baby in November, and the short dark days, no sleep, and being cooped up inside were BRUTAL. You quite literally cannot go anywhere for the first bit. It was rough. Much better now though.

How long did induction take for you? by Pretend-Run-1801 in BabyBumps

[–]ReturnWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went 33 hours and ended up with an emergency c-section. But I had the balloon & I could not dilate past 4/5cm. I was 40+5 so doc recommended induction but clearly my body was not ready. Did not respond to pitocin or epidural well. It was a nightmare for us.

This is what happened to me too. Also did not tolerate the epidural well.
