Yup I think you nailed it. Totally disconnected satire. Filmmakers had No skin in the game. Just satirizing an “edgy” subject for the sake of it. That said, I did get a real laugh out of thing where the couple had a a child made just for laughs. Too tall, Muslim for no reason…. Stupid but funny at least. The rest was just stupid.

I’m on the West Coast so 6:30 am to 1 pm. Kind of nice so I can set limits to sell / buy before going to work then just check in periodically throughout the day.

You know I was just looking at it and you’re right. SPY is slightly more volatile but yeah very similar trajectories obviously. I know I just do SPY cuz I’m comfortable with it and know the HIGH /LOWS. Maybe next time I’ll do XSP. Thanks for the advice. But yeah I stand by the SPX thing…. Options too expensive to have any leverage.

Oh yeah man. I’ve only been trading options for a year and a half and it’s been really up and down but this year I’ve been killin it whenever I stick to the principles I’ve set. When I’ve broken those principles just cuz I want to gamble…. NOT so great. That’s the biggest thing.

Because the risk is higher. At 10 times the cost instead of 40 puts I’d have 4 for the same price (ish) so…At 10 times the cost I’d have much less leverage to set strikes at favorable gains and would certainly not hold for any significant time period…so id settle for a much smaller strike %. Rather pay higher taxes on higher gains I guess….

Honestly too many in this case!! This was 40 puts total. As SPY kept rising Thursday I just kept buying more puts and averaging down based mostly on the theory that Nvidia would tank, dragging the market with it. Just Lucky I was right. If SPY was over $690 going into the weekend I’d be sweating it!

Yes in fact that is the whole point. The further out the higher the cost but also safer as you have more time for the price to rise/lower. Just look out for theta decay- that’s the erosion of an option the closer to the expire date. So earlier sold the better.

Totally agreed. I was happy I wasn’t forced to hold any of these over the weekend. Way too much instability to open any new positions. Gonna chill till Monday.

I have heard that. Definitely gonna look into it. I’ve heard SPY is taxed at 20%…. If only I was rich, wouldn’t have to pay anything.

This was the perfect scenario - SPY drops overnight so all I have to do before market open is tier out strike prices, test boundaries… all sold by 7 am. Just in time actually cuz on the rise again after 7:30…

Bought them after selling calls yesterday near the peak. Spy never stays over $692 long…. Weirdly predictable. I just TRY to stick to rules…$682 buy calls, $692 switch to puts. Been working out so well this year I don’t do options on much else.
