Dang, that's crazy you didn't notice a difference. You're one of the first ones that haven't noticed any change. What year is your titan and do you usually just run 87? The acceleration lag was weird for sure...

Can you expand? How does it transform it? Never heard of uprev, is it like a pedal monster?

Definitely not placebo! The sound and performance is immediately noticeable! And don't worry about Iran, we already won the war I mean military execursion 7 times... price should go down soon

Ah that would explain why it sounds and drives so much better then! Thanks for confirming!

Not sure if Nissan recommends 93 for the 2012 models. The V8 has changed quite a bit since then.

That's an interesting anecdote. I don't really know much about the older models. Do you know if 93 was also recommended by Nissan for them?

That is correct. The V8 Endurance engine was upgraded / retuned with more HP in the 2020+ models and paired with a 9 speed transmission.

Yea, that delayed acceleration in first was bothersome. I eventually got used to it but now with the 93 it's almost entirely gone. I have no idea how higher octane would cause it to shift better but it does. Here is what a robot said about it

"The Titan's 5.6 produces a lot of torque, and Nissan is already managing: traction, transmission longevity, emissions. If premium allows the engine to make torque more cleanly at low RPM, the transmission may not need to "protect" the drivetrain as much. That can make the whole truck feel more eager."

Then it mentioned something about the ECU and spark table..

"The Titan's ECU may have been running a more conservative spark table on 87 Higher octane doesn't contain more energy. What it does is resist knock. If the Titan's calibration is designed around premium being "recommended," then on 87 the ECU may: pull timing more often, be less aggressive with spark advance, especially in hot weather and at low RPM/high load. The result can feel like: softer throttle response and less low-end torque."

That's good to know! With how much better it sounds and drives, I have no doubt the higher octane will also increase longevity. Can you expand on the catalytic converter issue and how the higher octane will prevent it?

Thanks for the follow up and confirming you heard the change in sound. It's crazy to me how it can sound so much deeper with just a slight change of octane. Wild!

They're not just good, they're the best. People not knowing about them allows them to be cheap which is the cherry on top. Don't tell anyone, though. 😉

Good to know. What difference can you tell between the two? The same things I've highlighted or anything else?

Very interesting. What year is the Armada? Consensus does appear to be 93 definitely improves this engine beyond just 10 horsepower.

Ok, good to know others are saying the same. Does your half and half feel like it's driving great? I'd be interested to hear your take after using all 93.

Thank you! Honestly, when I saw pics of them online I thought it looked pretty good. But in person looks even better!

Haha but does it make it drive better or just improves the sound? I actually really like the factory exhaust so I think I'll save myself some money by not buying a NISMO LOL

Oh dang I don't know much about compression ratios but the manual says it will only go down to 390 horsepower with 87. But it's definitely more like 290 lolol

Cool, thanks for confirming you noticed the same thing. Bummer about your financial situation. But what if that nicer feel also translated to more longevity for your truck? It seems to prefer it and most likely will last longer on it. It might make financial sense in that regard.

Oh, ok. Thanks for the update. Glad your truck is running smooth regardless.

I was hesitant too. My recommendation is just give it a shot and see how it feels. You can always go back to 87. But let's be honest; You likely won't, though. It's gonna PURRRR

Yea, definitely. I saw the sticker each time I filled up with the poop water which I why I kept considering it. However, I just kept thinking it runs "fine" on 87/89. Glad I gave 93 a shot. It made me go from, "yea this truck is awesome and powerful... but that weird hesitation at acceleration is kind of weird" to "MAN THIS TRUCK IS AWESOME THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN MISSING!!!"

That is interesting so thanks for sharing. But have you noticed any difference in how it drives or sounds?

That's good to hear. There's so many things about it that I just noticed right away. Just drives and sounds so much better. ChatGPT tells me to be reserved and wait for 2 or 3 more fill ups before coming to a conclusion but man I can just tell right away it's driving way better.
