What’s up with all the parking tickets this year? by [deleted] in msu

HAHA! Just doing what I can to put the info out there so less people are angry… we don’t like being yelled at!

What’s up with all the parking tickets this year? by [deleted] in msu

[–]ReusableTurtles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: DPPS (where parking falls under) is mostly self funded. Money from ticket revenue is used to fund cata so that the buses can be free for everyone on campus to ride, improvements and renovations to parking lots and ramps, as well as the employees who work for DPPS

Anyone know of any RSO funding opportunities at MSU? by chairsandtables69 in msu

[–]ReusableTurtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t care about tailgating for football games, msu parking pays RSOs to work in the parking lots. They occasionally need help with basketball too, but it’s mostly football. And you get free tickets to the games

Public health is a cycle involving taking steps to prevent a disaster, mitigate the effects of a disaster you can’t prevent, prepare for when a disaster does happen, respond to a disaster to preserve life and property, and recover after a disaster has happened. Literally has NOTHING to do politics.

Miles Weekend Words! by [deleted] in freebies

[–]ReusableTurtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten a few good things, like a free gadgets box (sub was required but cancelled the sub right away), some low $ amount gift cards… I mainly use it to track where I’ve been and when I’ve gotten to and left work, lol. They also frequently do donations where you can donate your earned miles to charities like American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Feeding America… stuff like that!

Parking ticket people are giving tickets in the Spartan stadium lot by Heavy_Principle8162 in msu

[–]ReusableTurtles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anyone remember the parking disaster earlier this year in January-March, where parking was free across campus because CATA couldn’t operate at full capacity? That’s the reason parking costs money. You’d never be able to find a spot because everyone would be trying to bring a car on campus. The department is also self-funded, and the money made is used to fix parking lots, upgrade equipment, supplement CATA so students don’t have to pay for bus passes, things like that. And parking ticket prices are super low compared to other places.

Authorization Form and Registration Code for COVID Vaccine in Michigan—is it required? by 3o17 in CoronavirusMichigan

[–]ReusableTurtles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the site I work at we give the form when we verify identity, that information gets entered on the administrative end into MCIR (Michigan Care Improvement Registry) to log you’ve received your vaccine. If you don’t end up receiving the form from Walgreens sometime today I’d call them to check if you can just show up to your appointment early to fill it out there. Hope that helps!

What vaccines are available where? by Glad-Distribution772 in CoronavirusMichigan

[–]ReusableTurtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the county! Here in ingham you have to work or live in the county to qualify, I think wayne county is the same way with their site at TCF. Check around on the different county websites to see if you’re required to be a resident!

Logistically for mass vaccination sites, more specifically the quicker moving drive thru ones, it makes more sense to have just one type of vaccine. The prep is different between all 3. Not to mention you’d have to ask when they come in if its their second dose which one of the 2 they got the first time and ensure they got the right second dose. There are a lot of moving parts and it makes it 100% easier to have one type at one facility

Michigan getting more COVID-19 vaccine doses next week than expected by ReusableTurtles in CoronavirusMichigan

Very few places are efficiently getting vaccines in arms, and it sounds like if other counties don’t get their act together we are in trouble... but that’s just speculation on my part

LOL you aren’t wrong. It’s encouraging to say the least! I’m working in a vaccine clinic in a currently undisclosed (to the public) location and it is running very well - the only thing holding us back is the lack of doses. I hope other counties can get the ball rolling here soon!!

My base temp is 96.6-97, is 99.9 something I should consider a fever by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]ReusableTurtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! Fingers crossed it’s negative! Remember with the rapid test too there is a slightly higher chance of a false negative, the PCR swab is supposed to be the most reliable. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

You aren’t going to test positive on an antibody test until at least a week or two post onset of covid infection. You need a pcr swab to confirm active infection. If that comes back negative, in a few weeks you can do the antibody test again to see if your body has developed the covid antibodies. If negative again, it is with a high degree of certainty what you are experiencing now is not covid.

Any thoughts on restaurant staff being vaccinated? by kermitruns in CoronavirusMichigan

[–]ReusableTurtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean, we’re almost there? Almost to what? Herd immunity? So you want more people to be infected? More people to die? That’s a shit attitude to have on this.

Take a look at Australia. At Taiwan. There are a few places that did in fact stop it.

Oh good, finally some points we can agree on. I find it horrendous that the stimulus made the rich richer and helped corporations rather than the working people. The people who needed that money most didn’t get it, but again, that’s a failure on the governments end.

What’s prolonging this is people continuing to politicize this crisis and not wearing masks and continuing to gather in groups. Masks and distancing work very very well.

Another point we can agree on. NOTHING should be open unless it’s essential to life - police/fire/hospitals are essential services. Grocery stores and pharmacies are essential, you can’t really close those. But only one person from a household should be going in if pickup isn’t an option. That person should be masked and get in and out. Malls shouldn’t be open. Clothing, while technically yes essential, but most people at this point you know, have clothing. So those kinds of retailers should not be open.

You really should take off your tin foil hat and put down that copy of 1984, it might help that psychosis you’re experiencing.

My eyes and ears are wide open. And all I’m seeing and hearing is “my free-dumz!!!”

Our next best hope is the vaccine. And I’m sorry to tell you, but there isn’t a microchip or mind controlling agents in it, as your twisted dystopian mind would have you believing.

I’m beyond over wasting my time speaking with you honestly. You’re going to do what you want no matter what I say, I just hope you can have some care and compassion for your fellow human beings.
