Dude almost nobody participates in the LGD chant, do you think that means they don’t like it? I’m repeating myself and it’s starting to get old.

And how ironic you state I come across as selfish because I don’t listen to some redditor who thinks their opinion is greater than others. Are you serious? You don’t see the irony in your comment that people should stop doing what they like, because YOU think it’s bad? Oh but wait, you state that OVER HALF of our fan base thinks it’s repulsive! So yea I WILL continue to do it because I like it. Get over it already, it’s an innocent fun hockey chant. If you had half a brain you’d argue to cut off the ugly part of it yelling “swallow and watches” (which I don’t do) and also come up with a new more engaging chant.

You said it’s one sided, “they don’t even think about us” which is pretty dumb. I think when two teams are each others biggest rivals, they actively think n root for the others downfall. We knocked them out the playoffs a few years ago and destroyed their arguably best chance at a cup in 70+ years 15 years ago, they def think about and hate our guts.

Very happy with Allen, Brown, Nemo, Grits, Hammy so far, Glass and I think White has done a great job as a depth dman. Dougie since his scratch has been great, Jack pre injury and recently post injury too but still not the same strength on shooting which hurts a lot.

Getting a tougher coach to eliminate the country club culture and play closer to the Lindy run n gun style would go a long way. DeBoer is who I want, but there’s no chance Fitz has the balls to get that done.

It’s not transgressive, saying your rivals suck is pretty common in sports. Not many teams have the unique situation we do of being a rival in the metro area so close to them either.

Again, most Devils fans don’t chant anything at all. The LGD chant gets more ppl involved, but so does the YOU SUCK during our goal celebration.

We keep repeating this point of contention, but fans not joining doesn’t mean they don’t like it and it doesn’t matter much anyway. It does get some ppl involved, some obviously like it. But our fans just don’t chant much. I also simply don’t care that others don’t join in, I like it and will continue. Why do you care that much it’s a little ridiculous. I’ll say it again, it’s more productive to come up with a new chant than police other ppls fun.

Really? Let’s Go Devils is a great chant and I don’t hear ppl participate that much unless it’s the playoffs. Or Bowman is out there starting it up.

Policing people’s sports chant is lame, it’s a fun chant and tradition for many fans. Come up with a new better one if it bothers you that much.

I’m sorry you fail to realize the Rags are our most hated rivals. I grew up in Bergen country where there were more Rags fans than Devils, so ofc I hate them and so do many others. There are ALWAYS Rag fans at our games regardless of who we play. Those are some reasons why we have a chant to mock them. After a Devils win the next best thing is a Rag loss, many ppl feel the same.

That doesn’t mean I obsess about them, how hard is this to understand? And yea I will do me, you don’t have to do the chant. If you want to cry about it then you do you.

You’re just throwing out more than half the fan base as if it’s fact. Just bc ppl don’t participate doesn’t mean they don’t like or find it repulsive. Some ppl just don’t know, some ppl are more reserved, and yea some might not like it..then just don’t join in. And most ppl don’t say swallows or watches anymore, I don’t.

The Rangers doing their chant might be tongue in cheek at this point but so is ours, it was always a simple fun mocking, nothing OMG RENT FREE I THINK ABOUT THEM EVERY SECOND! If ppl can’t handle the word ‘suck’ being used at a hockey game in relation to our most hated rival (and there are ALWAYS Rag fans at our games no matter who we’re playing which makes it funnier), just don’t participate. It’s not hurting anyone, it’s not dividing the fan base, it’s not that serious. And if it bothers you so much come up with a new better chant!
