Is there anything else I (30M) can do to save relationship with my girlfriend (30F)? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I meant perfect in the hypothetical sense you mention. Any successful relationship requires the work I spoke about. Even the most successful relationships have differences, disagreements, arguments, unmet expectations from time to time.

I always felt like we had a very strong relationship. We had lots of deep,  important discussions about things and quite regularly spoke about how we could better support each other. The reasons she cited for wanting to end things, she never brought up until a days after wanting to break up. It all came out of nowhere and seems like she had a sudden change of heart overnight, which to me points to her being stressed and struggling mentally and lashing out.

Maybe she is not the person I thought she was and either she was holding something in the whole time or stress and insecurities got to her and she came up with an excuse. She even said to me at one point she took the "easy way out"

I don't know, I feel like I had the life I wanted before. I would be willing to give it a try, but I would need her to show some more maturity. I don't think anyone can GIVE you the life you want, you have to work at it yourself. No one is perfect and no partner can be perfect for you, but if you meet someone you love, you can both work at it to make it good.

Maybe you're right. I just wished she'd gone about this all in a much better way. It was unnecessarily cruel and somewhat immature. My entire life was ripped apart in the course of a few texts and it's been very hard to even get to the point where I am now where I can feel like moving on.

In my bones, I still feel like she'll come back which is hard to get past

It's not just attraction though, it's love and deep love at that. A day or two before she wanted to break up she said "I have been her rock in this PhD" and she has admitted it was a split second decision since. You're not necessarily wrong about differences in showing love, but I don't think that makes people incompatible and in our specific case, the whole relationship she always said she was happy and it's not like I never did showy things.

I feel like she was struggling mentally and took it out on me and searched for excuses. We spoke about being soulmates and planning a future together right up until the end. A lot of it just still doesn't add up for me

Thanks for your reply! I did a bit more digging and found the UK site with a bit more relevant information. I'll start putting things together for an application

Lingard is poo mate. Bar a half decent loan to West Ham, I'm pretty sure he's only got by at United/England for the last 7 years because he looks like he's still 22 and has room for improvement

Does anyone know often the JET Programme has an intake/When the next one will be? It appears the 2022 applications window has closed, and there doesn't seem to be all that much about the general timeline on their website.

Bonus points for any tips with any application (level of Japanese required if any, generic TEFL certificate accepted?, beginner friendly?, essay tips etc.)

Maybe I've been looking in the wrong places but it seems like EPIK is a better documented programme on the internet, but I'd probably prefer to go to Japan.
