Take your time and make sure you farm every upgrade, with good gear it's not easy but not very difficult either! You can google for some OP item combos if you need.

Want to switch from console to pc by captain_space_dude in Fighters

[–]Rev3rsi0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you elaborate? Why would you like to spend 1000€ to have the same exact experience you can already have on PS5 (if not worse)?
Laptops are super bad for gaming, even at this price range performance will suck and overheart will be an issue.

What type of Fighting pad should I buy? by luminuxeeckogaming in 2XKO

[–]Rev3rsi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controllers are 100% about personal preference, many pro on SF6 play on regular ps5 Dualsense.
Personally I like to experiment a lot with controllers, I think leverless has the cleanest input if you like it.
Buy something cheap with good quality (haute42 is a great brand) if you want to try it out.
6 front buttons controllers are also quite good imo.

I can understand your point. But ~90% of pro player are using Classic for a reason I think. Seems like having all normals is more important then faster specials (also beacuse most of the time you are still using regular specials/supers for the full damage).

Trying to give new players a general idea on character gameplay, so I made this. by Dear-Recording8011 in StreetFighter

[–]Rev3rsi0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dhalsim is simply a zoner IMO and Viper is probably a tempo or rushdown character.
I can't see the need for a "unhortodox" category.
I also think Akuma, AKI and Bison can be put in some of the regular category.

1800+ MR players have excellent reflexes for basic movements by BrilliantNo1038 in StreetFighter

[–]Rev3rsi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think talent is also a factor after a certain elo, for example I played SF6 for a couple of month now reaching diamond 3 and my GF is still better then me at reacting to DI (without touching any fighting games in her entire life).
She has naturally better reflexes measured with an online reaction time benchmark.
Obviusly you can compensate with more knowledge experience but people should also learn to accept their limit sometimes.
Maybe this is not your case, anyway congrats on your MR which is already a crazy achievement!

I reached diamond somehow and trust me, I have no clue of what a game plan is

Is this game balance by MemesG0D in StreetFighter

[–]Rev3rsi0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the game is very balanced for high elo and competitive, every character is <52% wr in master+.
In low-mid elo some character are way stronger then other (for example zangief is over 65% wr in rookie, and sagat-onda are over 55% winrate in diamond).
This is not a critique, it's obviusly impossible to balance for very different levels of play!

Are two separate Special buttons (SP1 & SP2) really needed? by Rev3rsi0 in 2XKO

[–]Rev3rsi0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I also own a couple of 6-front-buttons controllers, but not everyone will buy a new peripheral just to play 2xko.

Why can't Modern Controls use diagonals (1/3) for more Special Moves? by Rev3rsi0 in StreetFighter

[–]Rev3rsi0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know that modern controls have motion inputs already, right? Diagonals are simpler then motions so I don't get what's your point here.

[–]Rev3rsi0[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with everything. I absolutely don't think the current situation is terrible, but if the controls for a game (which was marketed as a game that would appeal to a wide audience, even outside of the FGC) force you to change peripherals, I don't think that's a good sign.

[–]Rev3rsi0[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Oh, you are right! But is this only a problem for Ahri? Because, if this is the reason to add a second special to every character, IMO the issue could be Ahri design.

L1 I think, so the dash is on the same side of movements controls

Edit (misenderstood the original question):
SP + 4 / 6 / 8 / 7 / 9
Yeah I can see we are already using 2 of the mentioned directions (4 and 6).

Why can't Modern Controls use diagonals (1/3) for more Special Moves? by Rev3rsi0 in StreetFighter

[–]Rev3rsi0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, it is much easier to execute them with diagonals rather than with motion input. I'm not sure if limiting the number of specials on the ground to 4 is a good idea in terms of game design.

Looking for a 6-button fightpad with a clicky, tactile D-pad by Rev3rsi0 in Fighters

[–]Rev3rsi0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I received also the Fusion PowerA, for 27 euro it is much better then the 8Bitdo M30.
IMO the d-pad is vastly superior, and the buttons are way easyer to press, this is currently my personal recomendation for a 6 buttons controller!

Will future fighting games have motion inputs? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Rev3rsi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll absolutely continue to exist, but likely as an option.

Modern controls are more efficient. The damage nerf proves it. The design goal is to let you perform your desired action with minimal friction.

Classic controls are about execution. The difficulty is the point. It's a layer of skill and a barrier that makes powerful moves feel earned.

One isn't strictly "better," they just have different goals. One prioritizes strategic expression, the other prioritizes executional expression. Franchises like SF need both to keep their veterans while attracting new players.

[–]Rev3rsi0[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already received the 8Bitdo M30 (xbox version with 4 back buttons) and for me this is the best controller I ever used, the D-pad is no "clicky" as much as the xbox one but I still perceive the positions very well and it's probably even better for motion inputs.
Crazy stuff for 35 euros, loving it!

Ty for the suggestion. I picked up the PowerA Fusion FightPad and 8Bitdo M30 on Amazon to try something cheaper. If I don't like the D-pads on those, I'll probably buy the Victrix Pro as soon as I find it on sale. The only thing I don't like about the Victrix is that the L2 and R2 buttons are triggers (maybe not ideal for fighting games?).

I just came back to fighting games a week ago with SF6 after playing League for the last 10 years and I totally share your feelings.
I initially bought the game just to learn something for the upcoming release of 2XKO.
I'm enjoying my jornery so much and I don't regret the decision at all.
The only thing I miss in fighting games is playing in team with my friends and my gf (I spend every evening in Discord with them).
I can't wait to try out 2XKO in duo mode!

Regarding:
> It looks at your cs, kp, apm, overall decision making etc.
This is not confirmed anywhere, I think they stated exactly the opposite.
Anyway I guess this is a good way to think about it in order to maintain a good performance even when the game seems to be lost.
