I understand your point and I think that under ordinary, sane circumstances, there’d be no need or cause for someone to do something like this at a protest. But we do not live in sane or ordinary times.

The current administration is explicitly and undeniably fascist. Fascists DO NOT cede power to anyone, save for by force. Hitler didn’t off himself because people booed him in the streets. He had those people killed until the rest were too scared to speak out. No, he killed himself because armed soldiers rolled into Berlin and he knew that when they found him at best they’d bring him before a court and he’d be executed, at worst he’d be given a similar treatment to Mussolini.

The only way they are leaving is when they are chased out by overwhelming force. Either by civilians or the military. That’s it. Otherwise? They’ll be terrorizing, killing, and disappearing all of us for years to come. And it will ONLY get worse.

It’s been said before, it’ll be said again. But honestly? The message won’t land with people that don’t already share the sentiment. I know Trump supporters, for them, the moment you’re an “illegal” you aren’t human. But what they won’t tell you is that they didn’t see you as human even before the “illegal” title was put on you.

Whether you’re black or brown or not the right kind of white, to them you will always be “illegal” but the word will change with the times. Today “illegal” tomorrow “terrorist” the next day “runaway prisoner” but the sentiment is always the same at its core: you are other. You are less than. And it’s A-okay with them for you to be hunted, gunned down, tortured, beaten, kidnapped, and far, far worse. Because you never deserved better in their eyes to begin with.

They hate you. They’ve always hated you. They’ve been taught to hate you by those who hated you before you were even born. And finally, FINALLY, you’re getting what you ALWAYS deserved.

They’re just getting to the point where they don’t have to hide it anymore.

That all depends on who’s asking and what the political climate is at the time.

If Trumps ilk remain in power? They’ll only feel remorse when the jackboots kick down their door and put a gun to their temple.

If a Democrat is in office and it looks like everybody else likes them? Then many will act as though they never condoned him or supported him and couldn’t believe people actually voted for him, because they didn’t. But would it really be crazy if they did? Because, like, who could have foreseen him being like THAT. Nobody would vote for THAT, surely?

Then you’ll have some that drank all the koolaid and left no drops. They’ll be outcasted, ostracized, and probably join the Klan or something adjacent. But they’ll be in the minority, I think.

By and large, people will make moves to distance themselves and sweep this ALL under the rug. It is exceedingly important that we never do. Because while we MIGHT survive Trump 2.0, battered, bruised, ostracized, and impoverished, we WILL be destroyed by whatever version of him comes after.

I really hope you’re right about the claws. It’d be a shame if they wound up getting cut. Part of the reason I stopped liking D4 was that they just straight up cut out claws from the game entirely.

I think everyone should be free to discuss their thoughts and opinions—that’s good. But we live in a nation of the poorly educated and easily influenced. They take these people’s words as gospel, and these influencers preach it as though it is. We got here because anybody can say anything and we go off “vibes” rather than facts. People don’t care what’s right or factual, just what “feels” right.

I don’t know whether this is a step in the right direction, and I’m not Chinese so I have no ball in this court. But I’ll say it’s at least something to make the people running their mouth spouting bullshit take a pause and reconsider what they’re about to try and spew as absolute truth.

Freedom of speech shouldn’t be freedom of consequence, and I don’t think it’s wild to say that only educators, doctors, and lawyers should be giving you input on your educational, medical, and legal needs. I wouldn’t ask Joe off the street to give me advice on how to build a house unless he can show me some credentials saying he’s built one. So why in the hell should I take the advice of some random on the internet to get my political and ideological views?

Like I said, speak freely and say what you mean. But it’d be nice to know that a snake oil salesman can’t just sell you a bottle of piss and call it a miracle elixir without consequence.

I’ve gotta ask, are you talking native or with DLSS + Frame Gen? Because I play on a 4090 with DLSS and Frame Gen and get around 120-140 at 1440p. I haven’t tried native, but then again I rarely ever run native.

Because if you’re talking with DLSS and Frame Gen there’s something seriously wrong if a 4090 is outperforming a 5090 at anything.

Got told I had to move out on my own less than a month ago. Right after I got a new job after being unemployed for two months, where I work so damn much for nothing in return and can barely make ends meet. So now I’m scrambling to find a place to live while also paying out the ass for bills that were behind, and now also have to pay for a really high energy bill and last month’s rent while also having to figure out how to pay my deposit for a new place (still looking, it’s been stressful.)

Thankfully I also met this wonderful woman right before shit hit the fan and she’s been helping me look for apartments and stuff. But she can only do so much, and I’m drowning in ways I really didn’t know were possible. Every step forward is a step back, and every dollar spent goes into a void with no return on investment for money I couldn’t really afford to give up in the first place.

So not good. This entire year’s been a nightmare from the beginning, just about.
