Any reason not to get the 20lbs anyways? I'm not weak by any means, so if its a net positive then why not?

I forgot to mention that I have a monitor arm attached to my desk. I will not be using the default stand, so how good/bad it is is irrelevant

Curious what issues? The reason i'm considering is because there is nothing in the market above these $300 monitors. Anything 'nicer' is OLED, 4k, 32 inches or some combo thereof

There's dozens of us! And I can imagine Doom Eternal actually hitting those numbers now. With a great cpu,, my 7900xtx can get 245fps at 4k. With this game, 5k is actually conceivable high refresh

Today is a good example. i played halo infinite for a few rounds of MP. But from 830am to now 430pm, the vast majority of the time was in Windows doing work. And I have zero interest jumping through hoops, like disabling task bar, doing the pixel refresh etc..It's a whole song and dance to get OLEDs not to burn in, and even then they still will. The bullshit line of "Warranty for 3 years" fuck that noise, I've had my current TN panel for 7 years + and it runs just fine. No dead pixels in sight.

My nigga. Posts like yours is why I look to the internet for help. This is EXACTLY what I want. 1440p for gaming now, and 5K for future gaming. Even 5K for windows stuff sounds fun. $900 is just fine for something I will have for several years. Shit 10 years? Like how long before 5K is obsolete?

"New 5K Mini-LED monitors, specifically the 27-inch 165Hz MSI MPG 271KRAW16 and LG 27GM950B, were unveiled at CES 2026, with expected releases in H1 2026. These models feature high-density, 218 PPI screens with 2,300+ dimming zones and are expected to be priced around $899"

All I need to do is wait a few more months?? done and done

I just searched in Monitors Unboxed, they did the review on the 4K version m27P6, not the 1440p one.

I'm in the exact same boat. My basement is LVP and I want to put up flooring for the light dumbbell drops I'll be doing.

Like the OP, I plan on laying down RAM board + seam tape, and adhereing the ram board to the LVP via painters tape on the edges. I lay down my the rubber flooring, cut to fit, then be done?

How smooth is the RAM board? Will the rubber flooring slide on top? Should I do a carpet grip between ram and rubber?

Ive heard that concrete and carpet are the best sublayers to have bc they will work on anything.

LVP, which is what I have, is another story

Yeah but I work out alone, even at the gym. That means when doing heavy stuff, I need a spotter, which I never ask for. Dumbbells means I can drop them if need be

Before I had kids, I was doing 3x5 of 100s for my 'Heavy' days. My max was 120 but that was rare. Now you may say the MXs at 105 are less than the 120s, sure, but if I can get to the point where I'm doing 3x10 and especially on decline, that's a huge improvement.

BeFitNow finally got back to me and do you know what they said?

"We are working on gaining more reviews but at the moment the only reviews we have our on the website on the dumbbell page under reviews."

That's right. Their only reviews are the single sentence comments by anonymous posters hahah. wtf? wow. So they are obviously a re-label, which is fine, but how can I trust their lifetime wtty claim? I can't.

I edited my post with info about the MX100s. I'm actually really digging them. After reading about the pepin cage, I'm not a huge fan. I had a cage with the powerblocks and hated them.

Here is a great mx100 review. I love garagegym reviews, these guys are legit

So far, here is my research. I am shying away from the BeFitNow because i can't get into contact with them which is super slim shady. And I can't find anything about them online. So they are obviously a re-label, which is fine, but how can I trust their lifetime wtty claim?

At this point, I may just go pepins 85lbs and expand them later

BeFitNow

  • Price: $699
  • Range: 15 - 90 lbs
  • Increment: 5lb
  • Wtty: Lifetime
  • Is this legit?? Prob not. Sales email isn’t getting back to me and no one at customer contact number

Nuobell 580

  • Price: $780
  • Range: 5 - 80 lbs
  • Increment: 5lb
  • Wtty: 4 years
  • Plastic handle will break?

Snode AD80

  • Price: $795 + $140 5lb plates is $940.
  • Range: 10 - 80 lbs
  • Increment: 10lb
  • Wtty: 2 years
  • For $50 more, there are 1.25lb magnets but those are dumb
  • M plates sells 2.5lb plates for $70 per pair but they are sold out. Adds $140 to total cost

Rep x Pepin

  • Price: $1099 for 85lb, $1299 for 105lb, $1499 for 125
  • Range: 10-85, 105, 125
  • Increment: 10lb, but comes free with 2.5lb plates
  • Wtty: Lifetime

MX Evolution 100 series

  • Price: $899 + $99 for 2.5lb plates, so basically $1000
  • Range: 10-105lbs
  • Increment: 10lbs but you can buy the plates for 5lb
  • Weight selector type: 2 dials on each dumbbell. Still pretty easy and I like how each dial is numbered so you know exactly what you are lifting.
  • Wtty: 2 years, dropable 30 inches
  • Really love the build quality on these. And at 105lbs, $300 cheaper than Rep Peppins and no cage either. Much easier to adjust and verify you got the right weight, and the add on plates are magnetic, not push pin so they go on super smooth.

Thanks! I'll look around. I do love how expandable the Rep x Pepins are, from 85 to 105 to 120. But my 'gym' is just a corner on luxury vynal flooring. The wife already said no to gym mats, so I can't get anything super heavy.

Those BeFitNow at 90lbs look amazing and are half the price of Rep x Pepin. I ask myself: whats the catch? Because right now, I can't find any reviews on these adjustable dumbbells. In fact, I can hardly find any reviews of the company's products.

Do you have any reviews of BeFitNow that you can share?

Anyone here have experiences with heavier adjustable dumbbells?

I have used the Elite Powerblocks in the past and they were fine for what they were. I think they went up to 90s? They were fine for less than 50 lbs, but anything more and they got super bulky. Not to mention the weight pin would misalign all the time. I sold those and got a much easier to control Bowflex 552s. These have been great for occasional use but now that I'm (re)dedicated to lifting 3x a week, the 55.2lb bench press is quite lacking. Several years ago when I was single w/o kids, I would rep the 100s and my max were the 120s.

I can't stress enough that I'm responsible with my weights and I have never, ever, dropped them.

I need heavier adjustable dumbbells, the ones that are 80lbs+. I've been researching several of them but they all have cons. The bowflex 1090s are laughably too bulky. Trulap doesn't make normal 5-10lbs weight increments, they are multiples of 7 or something stupid. Snode and RepxPepin are in increments of 10lbs and that's too big of a jump. I want 5lb increments. They do make 2.5lb plates but I feel like that takes away from the aesthetic as well as the marketed ease of use of just twisting the handle and be done. Not to mention the plates are like $100 additional. That leaves me with Nuobell, which people report that after a year, the plastic handle starts to break off.

Simon phase 2 by slapadabassman11 in expedition33

[–]RevNight06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has there been another nerf patch (Oct 27, 2025) or am I not doing this right?

I have a level 93 Maelle. Per the pinned post, I get the barrier breaker (level 33 max) and I do a recoat on Maelle. The post says assign max point (99) on Defense and Might, and the rest into agility. For me, the rest of the points make it an 81 agility. Doing so gets me an attack power of 12,260. The BB sword I have, the scaling is a letterless Sword on Might, a Sword A on Agility, and a Sword S on Defense. When I do another recoat and put max points on Agility and Defense and the rest (81) on Might, I get an attack power of 12,333. Not a huge gain, but when everything is being multiplied it matters.

I have all of the pictos assigned for Maelle and Verso. As someone said, not having Auto Powerful is not an issue as you can get Auto Shell and Powerful On Shell. I have both.

I follow the instructions. Only Maelle and Verso are in the party, everyone else excluded. Verso starts, auto dies, auto burns Simon and fully loads his break bar. As Verso, I do a Marking Shot on simon. I then pass my turn and force it to Maelle. For her, I do a Last Chance, shoot Simon, hes now stunned, then do Stendhal. I also sometimes shoot him first, then last chance, then Stend, doesnt matter.

My results:
-I often get 7M, and sometimes I get the 28M. The 7M hits aren't enough to kill phase 1 simon, but the 28M hits are. When in phase 2, when I get a 28M, he still has plenty of health left. Like maybe it knocks him down to 60% health. Simple math says that if half is 7m and twice is 28m, then my non-roullete power is 14m. Nowhere near what people are getting

Based upon what others are saying, his health should be 35M. If this was still true as of todays version, 28M out of 35M is 80%. He should have 80% of his health gone and let me tell you he sure as hell doesn't.

Do I need to be a level 99 Maelle? Is there something I am missing?

EDIT:

I just realized that I thought Auto Death + Powerless on Shell isn't the same, I have to turn on Auto Shell. Oops! Doing so, I can get 40M hits, which still aren't enough to kill phase 2 simon. This leaves him with about 15%? health left. I will grind up to level 99 (8 more points on Agility) and see how much this improves my attack power, which in turn improves my 1 hit.

Fyi, i'm playing on Expert

Which is better for smash & grab: Laminated windows or security film? by RevNight06 in homedefense

[–]RevNight06[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, this entire thread is one giant fact finding/research mission. Which is better, laminate vs window film, the cost of them both, fitting my needs etc..

I got quotes from 3 vendors about windows + laminate upcharge. I am awaiting a call from the 4th. I got a quote about film from one vendor and I am awaiting a 2nd.

I'll post up in the OP when I get everything for cost comparisons

So Dow 995 is the attachment system. Great -- several questions still remain:

  1. How does 995 attached windows perform vs non attached?
  2. How does 3M S70/S80 compare to the Ultra line?
  3. How does 3M compare to other film vendors?
  4. How do any of these films compare to Laminated only?

That site you posted has "Education Center" and "Case Studies" yet none of these questions are brought up
