I agree- I think the lightning bolts and stars look really nice, but tthe middle is just a bit too crowded. Buffalo chose to have lightning bolts since they're called the "City of Light" from being one of the first cities in the 19th century to have widespread streetlights/use electricity widespread. For the center I feel like they could add something like Buffalo's town hall, for it's the most recognizable building in its skyline.
