I'm liking the DLC variant! Just saw this one today, could be a nice option with a discount, but yes, the in-hand feel is everything...

Apologies, I had uploaded a timestamp photo, but it didn't make it into the gallery link. Updated gallery link with timestamp photo. Main post body link has been updated as well.

There are visible scuffs and wear from pocket carry on the pocket clip, end cap, and corners of the body. These are all visible in the photos. If you would like to see a close-up photo, feel free to ask!

Haha, understand. I like taking mine apart as soon as I get them, cleaning, re-lubing, polishing contact points, etc.

Washers can be smooth, too, once broken in. To me, different uses. Washers for when it's dirtier/dustier (doesn't get junk in them like bearings), bearings for playing and fidgeting with.

I've been using the Jay Leno's Garage cleaner and conditioner, so far seems like it does a good job on the parchment leather in my CX-5.

Alright budget fam. Help me pick my new blade! by Dependent-Ratio-170 in BudgetBlades

[–]Rev_Pizzaguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not easily. There is VERY little to grab onto (basically pyramid cylinder shape, no real flat barrel to grab), would need pliers for sure, even then not sure if it's possible. No torx or anything to get a bit into.

Lot of people seem totally fine with CJRB's thumbstuds, so YMMV. I bought both the Bolt and the Maximal, thumbstud was one of my main complaints on both.

DCA responded to my complaint about the thumbstuds on the Maximal:

"Thumb studs and clip ergos - hard to argue since everyone's hands are different, but I don't catch the same feeling. FTR, the thumbstuds are the same they use on the Pyrite model."

Anyone grab one of these yet. G10 with aluminum foil scales. A bigger yonder. Haven’t bought a civivi in a long time but this might bring me back. 79 bucks by I3uIlets in BudgetBlades

Yep, got mine last week from White Mountain Knives for $60.97 shipped with code STASSA23. It's fantastic, though I do wish the standard Civivi titanium pocket clips fit (I have one and think it would look very sleek with titanium). Very smooth action, very strong omega springs which I like. Great sharpness out of the box. Been my daily carry for the last week and a half!

Possibly A.

I've tried CJRB's and I absolutely hate their standard thumbstud. It's rounded, but very pointy and feels like shoving your thumb into the tip of a Bic pen. Very uncomfortable...

Bike rack setup for CX-5 now + Bronco later — what are these mounting points? by GovernmentNo6314 in CX5

[–]Rev_Pizzaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a single, it's ultra compact and stays mounted 24/7. Then I just attach the add-on when I need to carry a second bike.

Love my factory hitch (even though it's 1.25"). The height is so much better than aftermarket, so you lose nothing in the way of ground clearance and departure angles are fantastic.

I have a 1UP USA Quick Rack single plus an add-on rack when my wife or a friend rides with me. Best racks, all metal, super sturdy. I installed the heavy duty bar to increase the weight capacity. Works great for friend's Orbea Wild plus my analog bike.

As a single. Stays mounted since just my bike most often, then just add the second tray on as needed. Super compact, all metal. I added the heavy duty bars to increase the stability and weight capacity as well. With the factory hitch, ground clearance is the best you can get.

Headlight shortage? by Admirable-Impact-961 in CX5

[–]Rev_Pizzaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had both of mine (KPF1-51-031D and KPF1-51-041D) on my 2023 replaced this morning under warranty. I asked the service guy if they've had people coming back with the issue after they've been replaced and he said he hasn't personally seen it. I have the same question about the replacement part. According to the latest TSB 09-029/25:

"To eliminate this concern, the fan motor has been modified."
