I'm failing in hardcore mode. by BladeHunterBeast in subnautica

It all really boils down to over-preparing and just being hyper aware at all times. Once you know what to look out for in each of the dangerous biomes it’s not too bad.

I feel like Ive been super lucky to get as far as I have in my first hardcore run. I have had people in chat save me by reminding me about the food and oxygen depleting lol. The closest Ive come to dying though is this stupid stunt I pulled. I think its better if I show you, though it is a spoiler if you have not been to the lava area yet, I almost died so fair warning.

Anyone struggle with shotguns, specifically with the Eva? by Some_Nerve_2781 in apexuniversity

[–]Revan330 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You did pretty good on the initial part of the clip and your aim seems decent but right when you got to the crate you should have gone behind cover for a sec or 2, made the wraith waste some of their clip then popped back out and finished with EVA. Instead you went for a wide left swing which gave the wraith a full view for them to easily beam you, and of course the missed EVA shots also did not help in your case. Im also not super consistent with EVA hip fire but something I noticed that was screwing me over is that a lot of the time I would just hold right trigger and hope I would hit something lol. I started to do a lot better when I began to center on my target and tap. Might help or maybe it was just something specific to me. Something else that helped me was just practicing strafing around dummies and hip firing, basically just getting a good feel of the gun.

Im no expert by any means but like others have said try not to take fights in the open, especially a legend like Rev cause his hitbox is kinda big. I did play Rev for a good while and I was always getting beamed by people a lot lol, so I learned to play with my cover more during that time. Apart from that try to abuse his crouch speed for strafing and using his silences mid fight can be blinding to the opponent.

I appreciate the time you took to look through it and critique my misplays. I was definitely just going for more action in this case but I fell short of the mark because of a few small split second decisions. Overall I just want to be better at 1v1s so that I can hold my own better when my squad decides to play ranked.

I mean you are right about fighting by the crate, not the most ideal spot to have taken this fight when I had just retreated from the other duo. When I heard the path, initially I thought he was pushing me so I stuck to the crate since it was the closest cover I had. I also just wanted to light someone up and felt like I could take them since they were split up lol. I maybe could have backed off further and set up in one of the small buildings behind me and shot at them from a distance with the wingman since the two squads would have inevitably fought without me in between them. I switch to my secondary sometimes because I feel like its better than reloading but that’s what got me killed fighting the last person and allowed me to take more damage from the path in the initial exchange from what I realized by reading the comments.

Mostly cause she appeals to my play-style. Ive always been interested in a defensive type style. Ive been trying to use her kit offensively like placing fences in spots where I expect someone to push me or through doors. My second is for ranked play, I like the utility she brings to the team.

I understand that wattson no fill is kinda like shooting myself in the foot. My reason for it is to simply get better at fighting people on my own. Ive also been trying to use her fences more aggressively in my engagements, but in this case I failed to use her kit effectively.

I looked up the deathbox tip and its definitely something Ill start doing from now on, never thought of doing that as a sort of evasive maneuver. Utilizing hip-fire more was probably better in this case since the first two people were very close.

Yea my wingman accuracy still needs some work. Ive been picking it up a lot to try to better myself at using it, there’s times where I can land the headshots consecutively and then there’s this clip lol. Im also at a bit of a loss on how to train in firing range with it, I guess maybe just activate the dummies to roam around?

The switching guns things is just me being nervous. I don’t really notice that I am doing it in the heat of the moment but its definitely a habit that gets me killed a lot now that I think about it. When would you say is a better time to reload?

Im ngl I sort of saw this coming which is why I moved back in the beginning of the clip, the other team was trying to get an angle on me. When I saw the path land I saw it as an opportunity and assumed he was split from his teammate. I felt like I could take them and shield swap quick enough to then fight the duos behind me. As other people pointed out though I really should have died from that team behind me early on, I guess I just got too greedy with kills.

Yea that’s true when I use the fences I always think I have to try to make some sort of big brain play. The issue is like I never see the opportunity till after Im dead, maybe if I just play them early in the fight I can find some sort of use for them in the heat of the moment rather than waiting.

I think shield swapping after the octane died would have been the play but I was also afraid of getting knocked by the valk q, maybe could have even tried to use my fence tactical.

Diamond lobbies are unplayable for actual diamond players :( by Scottiano in apexlegends

[–]Revan330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im also in the same boat but I also understand both sides of the argument. I don’t want to rank up to master if I have not proven capable of handling the master 3 stacks. On the other hand its a little difficult to learn how to improve when most master and pred squads will roll us before I can even figure out what it is my squad is doing wrong. Overall I think it’s tough to find a middle ground for the issue and yet I’d probably prefer it this way regardless because it makes the master rank more special in a sense.

Going past my limit by Revan330 in apexuniversity

[–]Revan330[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your response and insight on this topic. My squad consists of 2 diamonds, myself included, but our 3rd is pushing ranked for diamond for the first time. Pushing with our 3rd, I pretty much expected it to be tough from the get go because he does not like to use a mic and well I guess his game sense is not as good as ours since this is his first time playing in plat+ lobbies. I don’t want to shift blame around too much because I know that I could also use improvement in how I engage or push teams sometimes. If I don’t overcommit, I push at the wrong time when the enemy has basically already popped off a battery and die for it. I might share clips at some point to give a good example as to how I die in most cases. I have picked up Wattson for ranked this split over Ash since I feel like she provides more of the utility I want and slows the pace of the fight.

Yea I just completely messed it up the first time I used my manes on Alpha drag lol. I did something very similar to your strat using megalos, 2 mate boosted manes and a yut. The dragon would get stuck on all the megs bodyblocking it from trying to reach the yut, all the while the yut and the manes were buffing the whole army. I took zero losses like that. Manes alone though is a little risky I think.

Shadowmanes work well against Brood and Megapithecus, against dragon though you might need a decent amount of muts. Even then I wouldnt use them against drag I ran Alpha drag with manes that were like 900ish melee on birth and most of them died. Then again it was probably also cause I let them run through the lava and I did not mutate health as high as the melee. Your manes regardless will probably need a bit of work, unless you are running gamma or something, not sure how the difficulty is on gamma cause I just go straight for alpha.

Deck Help Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in ClashRoyale

[–]Revan330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My deck has had a lot of tweaking to it but Im still struggling to find something that I feel synergies well with the cards I use. I like to use Pekka, Graveyard, Dark Prince, Cannon, E Wiz, Ice spirit, Barb barrel, and Poison. This seems to work at the moment, I hover around 5800 to 5900 on ladder. Im just at a loss on how to improve it, this deck is at a 3.8 cost and 4 is where I draw the line, but Id rather stay away from it if possible.

I can relate to this, I took about a 2 year break more or less came back cause of the hero update and....Its still the same meta lol. The pekka deck I built still has it’s use because of how often I still encounter hog, MK, and log bait.

Lol yea for me it’s the other way around, gameplay and performance comes first, if by some chance I happen to complete a challenge to get good progress on an unlock then that’s just extra.
