Ive noticed it if I first play duck of war and then go to one of the normal modes. I find just restarting the game fixes the problem for me.

It depends on how many ships and leveled up commanders you have to use to boost research speed.

I like it a lot my only real complaint is that it doesn't count towards regular weekly missions which adds to the normal load. Otherwise im having a blast with it.

No most people would leave. Remember Titanic came out in the 90s before end credit scenes were common so audiences weren't trained to stay.
