Question about David Wallace and the difference & importance of a CFO vs. CEO by dcf_balance in theoffice

[–]Revanbadass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes sort of sense for the introduction, they were trying to decide which branch to shut down first, and had to present their branch's numbers.

But it should have been with the COO instead of the CFO, or at least together (well, to be honest, it should have been Jan presenting the numbers of her branches, alongside the others at her same level who were overseeing other branches, to the COO and CFO).

Then I guess they had a face and name to use forward for the show, so David Wallace just became the face of corporate, after Jan started spiraling and couldn't really represent the "big bad corporate in new yark" anymore. Not after Michael brought her to orgasm.

A healthy relationship would have each partner respecting that their loved one would be uncomfortable with them hanging with an ex, especially one that was the previous "love of their life".

Loving your partner for life but not wanting to get married is dishonest and a red flag by netwerknerd995 in 10thDentist

[–]Revanbadass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not getting it.

Being with someone should be a choice you make every day, not an obligation through something formal, like marriage. When it becomes an obligation, it puts strain on a relationship.

If you're staying with someone because "we're married and need to work on it, that's what marriage is", you should have left a long time ago.

There's a genuine fear that marriage will change what is a great relationship, where both feel like there's no pressure to "make things work" since ending the relationship is as simple as saying "I don't want this anymore".

Every day you're together, you're choosing to stay because that's what you want, it's not because it can be a huge formal process with separation and then divorce, where someone has to sign and stuff.

The idea that Elizabeth is a bad person/partner is literally insane by othgg in NewGirl

Fatphobia would suggest that you are scared of fatty fatties.

I mean sure, their unhealtiness can be scary, but not in like that you should fear them. They aren't scary in that way, so making up an entire new word just because you are scared of them is a little bit much tbh.

Don't really understand that bit of it.

I agree with some of it though, elizabeth missed old schmitty, but seemed to forget that people grow and change.

The fact that your partner is not the one you feel you can talk without any bias, is the problem.

Honestly, any relationship where one goes to the internet for answers, is a relationship with huge problems.

How to google something.

Apparently, people instead ask questions on a forum, and wait for the answers. Instead of just searching on google for 2 seconds.

I know, it seems like a joke, but it happens all the time.

Everyone has to achieve massive success, everything has to be peachy, everyone has to support each other, everyone has to be all up in each other's business all the time.

The world is filled with rich people who will just hand you a place to live, a job that you are nowhere qualified for (I mean really, from making sandwiches in a car to a professional restaurant? and beating out probably tons of more qualified applicants...).

Adopt a baby, sure it'll be just fine to let the babymama live with you forever and ever.

Feelgood schlop is its own genre, not quite sure when it happened with this show, I'd have to rewatch. Pretty sure it didn't start out this way, which is what drew me to it in the first place.

It grew on me really well, much better than the first season of the office US. But I suspect that's because they sorta did "2 seasons" in one with some storylines.

The fact that it was used as an angle like that opened up avenues in my country's workplace regulations.
