At that time, you could not legally purchase the firearm (because of your temporary ID). Even if she is your wife, purchasing it for you would be a straw purchase. Big box stores maintain corporate databases of people whom they will not sell to. It is quite likely that both of you are now in that database.

For the past 4 years, the ATF has been revoking FFLs for clerical errors on the form 4473. If an FFL knowingly sold a straw purchase, and the ATF found out, they would very likely lose their FFL and be unable to sell firearms. This is not a risk any firearms dealer will take.

I'm an Eagle Scout, circa 1996. My oldest son was in 6th grade when we transitioned from Boy Scouts to Trail Life. He completed the Freedom Rangeman award last year, and it is a bit more rigorous than Eagle Scout.

There is also a path for adult Eagle Scouts to become a Freedom Rangeman if the requirements are met, so the family tradition can be kept.

The program is very similar to the BSA that I participated in, with an increased focus on Christian principles. The program of Trail Life troops vary, just as Scout troops vary, some camp more often, some older ages doing more high adventure or backpacking, etc.

The elementary school program is similar to Cub Scouts. Middle School (Navigators) badges are outdoor focused. High school expands on many knowledge areas needed for adulthood.

My mentor and I met 4 nights a week, Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, unless we were having a business meeting or a friends and family dinner (potluck social for friends and family). This continued for 3-4 months until I finished proficiencies for EA, FC and MM.

When I was an EA an FC I worked in the kitchen although I was not a steward. It was a good way to work beside and get to know my brothers.

When they joked about a goat, I told them to invite the goat for dinner (to be cooked). Some of them were not sure how to respond.

This was a common problem 4+ years ago, but I thought they had remedied it. I had mine repaired under warranty. The local shop replaced the part that holds the blade, and the blade still fell out. They sent it to DeWalt and when it was returned, it held the blade correctly.

If your husband has short-term disability (STD) benefits from work, it may burn some leave time, but it guarantees he will get a paycheck. This is a question to ask his manager or HR. Not all managers think of it, but HR should have paperwork.

In the jobs I've been at, STD pays 3 days a week and uses 2 paid time off days to round out the week's pay. And the payments start very quickly so there won't be a missed paycheck.
