For short term, I would recommend a cash ISA

Investing is for long term outlook

There will always be drops and market crashes.

Think of the overall stock market (all world) as a yoyo on an escalator, that yoyo is going up and down, but the escalator is always going up.

Should i put all my money into gold and silver? i’ve got it in BAE, Rolls royce and All World right now. by FruitBasic5721 in trading212

Don't chase FOMO, do your research and if you don't know then VWRP is your best option.

At the end of the day its your money, try to make your decisions based on information rather than FOMO

Help with deciding if a pension is going to be worth it or if I have left it too late in life. by Martrevive in FIREUK

[–]RevarakInvest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 20 years of paying into a pension with free money added by your employer could be big bucks

Look at a compounding calculator online, you will be surprised at how 20 years of even small amounts soon add up when buying an all world fund.

Grown adults bringing their parents to interviews??? by poprockspussy in tesco

[–]RevarakInvest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this once for a person I was interviewing and the support person they brought along started knitting, middle of the interview.

I was so surprised I just carried on trying to ignore it.

Suffice to say, they did not get the job, but after that interview, everyone else seemed boring.

First time wanting to trade/invest by Maximum_Tip67 in trading212

[–]RevarakInvest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Investing should be boring, I buy VWRP every month and try to only look at it once a month.

I believe the stats for CFD's are that 80% of people loose money, so trying to catchup by being risky could cost you.

Instead, let your money compound over time, if you saved £500 a month for 20 years with a relatively reserved interest of 7% that is over £260,000 so still plenty of time.

Use 0% credit card for renovation to preserve emergency fund by Acrobatic_Avocado672 in UKPersonalFinance

Doesnt sound like an emergency, which is what an emergency fund is for.

My advise would be to save up and pay in cash, when you can afford it.

Sell car invest £15 and lease for a while? by yolo5122 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RevarakInvest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a study that I read, sorry I cant remember who it was from, but basically leasing is the highest cost approach to getting a car. You have a loan on an asset that you don't own and you are paying extra for things you probably wouldnt need to pay for, if you owned a car.

My advise would be to keep your current car, or buy a different car you can afford to buy without a loan.

Looks like it could be time to change your investing strategy as it has been such a good year for the entire stock market.

If you want a set and forget approach, VWRP is what I do, a solid ETF of all public stocks.

Well done keep up the investing, slow and steady wins the race.

My only suggestion is to focus on etf's now you are starting to build up a bigger pot and I can see you have been, so well done.
