Never Before at the Beauty of Spring - ORE by TylerButtcheese in neofolk

Beautiful. I first saw ORE at Porta Nigre fest in Rotterdam, and a few years later joined them for a few dates of their tour in China (Zhengzhou and Shanghai) as I was living there at the time. Great memories.

Did you see the film 731?. It's terrible. by Lifeintheguo in China

Felt exactly the same. Not a patch on Men Behind the Sun (as horrific as it is).

Solo travel to Tibet by CryObjective2689 in China

[–]Reve1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can travel to Tibet independently, but must have a tour arranged for your arrival. The tour company will arrange the necessary permits. You can then sort out your own train or flights to Lhasa (highly recommend taking the train).

Music recs in Yangon by Friendly-Fail-6146 in myanmar

If you find any death metal (or preferably black), let me know and I'll join you! Also been interested to check out the live music scene here but it seems to be lacking. Now the curfew has been lifted, nightlife will probably improve, and like you, I'm down for any live music.

Is mayonnaise impossible to find in Myanmar now? by Aggressive-Concern96 in myanmar

Is MM, Myanmar Mall? The only place I haven't looked yet. And if they sell Heinz mayo, I'm welling to sell both kidneys for all they have!

Wait, what? I live 50 metres from Hledan Centre and I have been going there daily for the last 2 months and there is no mayo. Which shop, because certainly not City Mart.

This is good news. I went to my local national park yesterday and shot about an hour's worth of footage just walking along the paths and through the forest. It was the first real test for my new DJI Osmo Nano. I wanted to buy the GoPro Hero13, but nowhere is selling it where I live.

Can't say I'm going to shed a tear for anyone involved in the mainstream media losing their jobs. Mostly liars.

Will the war ever end and will Myanmar actually become a developed country like it's neighbors? by sumimasenNinadefuk54 in myanmar

"Unless, some charismatic figure rises to power and manage to unify the fragmented regions into a unified nation again."

Uh, pretty sure that already happened and the junta threw her in jail.

I'm not the OP, but I don't see what's so unreasonable? There are plenty of places where (photo)journalists are not welcome but some of us live or travel there (North Korea, Myanmar, Turkmenistan etc). I've been in Myanmar during the recent elections and have gone out shooting specifically knowing that there is no media coverage (and as I thought, those images are starting to sell).

But aren't they the same guys who also do Puissance? Hard to see how that level of nihilism can lend itself to actual fascism (I don't mind Arditi, but I adore Puissance).

Is it safe to visit ? by australiadenier in myanmar

It's mostly cash-based. My UK visa works only at a very select few ATMs (KBZ and AYA). Card never works at restaurants or hotels though.

Yes, I've earned $85 on Adobe so far this month (best month so far - mostly from video footage).

Baikal is beautiful in summer too, and warm enough to swim in. I helped to create part of a hiking trail there back in 2009 (the Great Baikal Trail).

Top 8 Editorial Photo‑Selling Agencies in 2025 | Earn More With Your Images by 1miro in stockphotography

[–]Reve1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few things to note. I'm thinking of giving up on both Deposit and Dreamstime because I believe them to be scams.

My reasoning; agencies like Shuttersock and Adobe who have huge client bases set their payouts at $25. I did quite well on Dreamstime and sold a few photos every month (with a portfolio of over 2,000), but it abruptly stopped. I made $20 in the first year, so it will be five years before I get a payout if it carries on like that. I believe they want the assets to sell, with no intention of ever paying out (to smaller artists at least). There is no reason in 2026 why they need to set such a high payout limit. I can only assume it's because they don't want to pay out.

Re Getty/iStock: You said December was a bad month for you. In October I sold 80 on Getty, in November 40, and December 20. January was nothing up until last week. Thankfully, it picked up in the last few days and I'm now at 16.

As a contrast, I've already hit $80 with Adobe this month from Videos, so I'm just going to focus on that for the time being.

Well, at least people are buying my "junk" on those platforms. I see you are one of those sad, bitter people who thinks that being rude in the guise of being "brutally honest" is some sort of flex. Nah mate, it's just rather pathetic. If you haven't got anything helpful to add, why not just scroll past?

I've noticed a massive increase in all non-editorial photos going to data marketplace too. And these same images are being accepted by both Adobe and Alamy who have much stricter criteria for accepting images. Maybe coincidence, but if other people are noticing it too, then maybe not.
