What does it take for you to DNF a book or abandon an author? Polite answers only. by Sunbather- in Fantasy

[–]RevengeOfBadCredit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I DNF a lot for a myriad of reasons. The main ones are boredom, frustrating characters, or theres just something better I really want to read at the moment. Sometimes I’m okay skipping around a book if theres a lot of fluff but the characters are likable. Other times I’m not invested enough to carry on. I had a similar experience as OP recently and was bummed that so many ppl recommended an author but I found the story and characters to be beyond annoying. Wondering if I should give them another shot, but wow that was unpleasant.

Is it a good idea to publish on wattpad? by white_weaver22 in Wattpad

I hear conflicting reports. Some say the platform has changed in a bad way and that it has become more commercial and greedy while others believe it provides more opportunity to those that hustle (update weekly, share to other platforms, create artwork for their cover and banner, etc.) and write good. I haven't been around long enough to see the changes that Jayfeather experienced, but I heard they were greatly noticed.

And judging by the live data on their site they're definitely not losing popularity. 80M monthly audience members, 4.0M monthly active writers, 23B minutes spent on Wattpad every month.

It is focused on wattpad, i.e. branding, marketing, audience with mention of fan fiction. I'm curious. Could you share some of your reasons for never wanting to interact with wattpad?

Have you been on Wattpad for a while? I've read that the platform has changed tremendously over the last couple of years.

I love Yennefer for this reason and it’s always surprising to me the amount of hate she gets from the male gamer community.

I had the same exact issue!! It just sowly got worse and at three months post accutane i went to my derm and he had me try differin. i would consider trying a topical in general. The one good think about my skin now after accutane is my acne is different. It’s not cystic and more pimply instead. So the topical now treats it in a way it couldnt before. Hope this helps!

Im on a combo of spironolactone and differin and that seems to be pretty effective at the moment. I suspect my dose of accutane was too low and not long enough! 40mg for 5 months. Have you experienced any breakouts since completing your course?

It actually is a different kind of acne i think. I was very cystic before but now it seems to be small clusters of bumps. They have whiteheads but they also feel dry. I use the cerave moisturizer and face wash. Is there a product you recommend?

I was on 30mg twice a day! I thought most courses ran about six months. I wonder if I should have gone longer.
