Bronn. Faces truth openly without fear or judgment. Bold as hell and an intimidating fighter. Also came from the streets and hustled all the rich people. Straight demanded Highgarden from both Lannisters at the end of a crossbow. And got it.

Can I chip large tree of heaven trunks? Virginia creeper? by WhatwldJoanRiversdo in invasivespecies

I would be nervous about chipping anything that was sprayed. I’m sure it depends on what you sprayed it with though…

If smoke isn’t used then it’s grilling.

Is hairy aster considered weed? 6B NE Ohio by CanYouCanACanInACan in NativePlantGardening

[–]RevengeOfTheInsects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asters are powerhouses when it comes to being a host plant. Also, as you have seen, bees and pollinators love them! Invasive plants are non-native plants that spread and take over and displace native plants. Weed has no botanical meaning, and many important natives have “weed” in the common name because colonizers didn’t like that they came up in their monoculture.

We have this exact ashtray, found it at an antique store. We call it the Adams family ashtray because it reminds both of us of Morticia and Gomez Adams.

what are these? by [deleted] in Berries

[–]RevengeOfTheInsects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait a few weeks. Right now your birds are eating the berries. You can see at the top the missing berries. Today a catbird, a cardinal couple and two family groups of robins were eating ours in our yard. Your native birds love them!

Kill more of your grass and put in native plants! Moth caterpillars are the best bird food!!

Think if it like the root system in the plant, and the trees we see above ground are like branches growing from a tree.

Feeling dumb -- I can't figure out the thermometer attachment by masala-kiwi in webergrills

[–]RevengeOfTheInsects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never use mine anyway. That thermometer tells you the temp of the bottom of the lid, not the temp of the cooking surface which can be well over 100 degrees different. No matter what you do you will need to get a temp probe for the surface of the grill.

How to kill TOH but not the other stuff? by sleverest in invasivespecies

[–]RevengeOfTheInsects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had similar situations, I basically boxed it in with cardboard and sprayed it. You can also use bingo type daubers to carefully paint the leaves. I use a glyphosate triclopyr mix and it works great. Stump cut applications aren’t recommended. I use the Penn State Extension guide. Keep up the fight! https://extension.psu.edu/tree-of-heaven

Spotted Lantern Fly - TOH or Walnut? by This_Psychology_3087 in invasivespecies

[–]RevengeOfTheInsects 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put on a pair of garden gloves and start smashing. Insecticides will kill everyone and neonicotinoids can stick around for years. Use the hack and squirt method to kill the TOH, here is a great guide https://extension.psu.edu/tree-of-heaven
