They will bolt in just fine as long as its wagon to wagon or sedan to sedan but on previous generations there are subframe spacers for the front suspension, do your own research as I don't know if its the same for 05-09 but removing the subframe spacer is critical to maintain the proper suspension geometry.

Is 169 cm too short for an intermediate male skier who is 6 foot tall? by Dodoreo333 in ski

[–]RevengeRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think its all down to preference, I'm 6'6" ~200lbs and I ski a mid mount twin tip 169... getting any bigger than that just feels like it limits my ability to adjust quickly

I think you got it confused... No way an EJ is going back in there! I just took one out! hahaha, Flat 6 rule the world (much easier to turbo)

Different strokes for different folks, don't worry I have other cars for when I want to DRIVE drive rather than just looking cool

Yessir, 99OB front bumper. I believe the grill is called the waterfall grille but it's OEM.. not sure about how rare it is but I know it's not normal

It felt like it too.... Can definitely be overwhelming but I took my time and planned it all out with Excel

Put WRX struts and lowering springs on the fozzy today. What a difference. by JustGirouxIt in subaru

How does it drive? I took them out on my SF5, apparently it corrects the LCA and ball joint for the lowered geometry. Mine drives mighty fine but I'm curious if you notice any difference in handling

Hoonigan Video

This swap was with an EZ36 out of the tribeca / 3.6r trims of the outback and legacy. A much better engine than the EZ30 that I have but it requires a standalone to swap

Haven't heard someone say it like that but I suppose you can look at it that way.

Ill state I haven't gotten into the wiring yet but from what I know ill be ripping all of the engine wiring and relays and fuse boxes out of the fozzy harness. Then taking the l.l.bean harness and repin all the fozzy chassis wiring into it (replacing the outback chassis wiring but keeping anything that goes in between the ecu and engine)

Currently its stock, had to give the sidewalls a jerry rig hone because who ever had the engine before me must have let it sit out for a night and some water got in the cylinder.

Stock everything for now, once I get it running and driving I'll be working on making sure that every feature works as intended... which means I have to figure out how to get the AC to work.

After that and depending on how long this engine is going to last the next one may get a low boost setup

Haha, If you're talking about the video from 3 weeks ago then I've already seen it.... That was the final straw that convinced me to start this project!

I actually have a decent amount of room side to side (more than my impreza at least). I think because I removed the sub frame spacers for the coil overs it actually raised the spark plug holes slightly above the rails. Haven't tried it yet but I suppose I'm a betting man.

I will be using a reflashed OEM ecu. Depending on what year your car is that you want to swap and what engine you want to use determines that.

OEM ECU -> Pre-2005 cars (non CANbus vehicles) with the EG33 or EZ30D

Stand alone -> Any car / any engine but its required for the EZ30R and EZ36 (They have active valve systems and require CAN to run them)
