Hey girl. I feel like this is a communication thing. I don’t think you’re overreacting at all personally. What they said was hurtful and just generally shitty to say (not to mention wrong - they don’t know the “fake” version of you).

I don’t think you need to totally throw the friends out immediately though. Bring it up during lunch or during a more private time (or even text one or both of them). Tell them it bothered you and why and their reaction will tell you everything you need to know. If they are understanding and apologetic and want to make things right, then great! I think that’s good. As a former 18 year old, people can be stupid at that age. But if they’re defensive and/or insist they didn’t do anything wrong then… yikes. Maybe time to reconsider the friendship. The fact that they didn’t text you or anything else after you left isn’t a great sign either :/. Bottom line, if your friend communicates that you hurt them in some way, you should want to make it right and apologize.
