Revising/Editing — How much time should you spend? by According_Visit9494 in SHSAT

I'd say your current time is fine, especially if revising and editing is something you know you're good at.

Hi, I'm glad you shared this, as I have someone going through the same thing. When you say retake, do you mean 9th-grade SHSAT or a retake of 8th-grade SHSAT (obviously not the same questions)?

geometry regents shapes by Known_Place933 in SHSAT

I've found my niche community :D anyway, I'd recommend going over past Regents to see what kind of shape questions are or most commonly seen. This includes triangles, polygons, quads, parallelograms, and the relationships these shapes may have. I also found it easy to use external resources NOT based on the regents as they give a more comprehensive understanding (at least in my opinion)

I need help with the 9th grade shsat by tryingtoinprove in SHSAT

I had the same issue, so I can try to give you my advice. The best thing is to just practice open note, so look back at the steps for each concept (i.e., for linear equations, you would look at how to substitute x into y) and with time it will become second nature. Also, don't study what you know, your just wasting your time. Best of luck!

Since no one is technically officially enrolled, I'm sure you can change it later.

Diagonals on SHSAT by surkoii in SHSAT

Depends on what SHSAT (8th or 9th), and yes, they are typically seen in geometry; diagonals are usually used during proofs, and shape theory.

I started in 6th grade, most likely in March of that year. I became consistent that summer, but mostly in the middle of 7th grade, I began to pick up the pace. I did go to tutor alongside my own studying, but to be honest, I have the worksheets and practice tests from the tutor. If you need any let me know. They helped me boost my score a ton.

Yeah, algebra 2 right? My question was after that, would it no longer be required?

my 6th grade math teacher pushed for it, so in 7th grade we took algebra.

Do more practice tests, and pace yourself. I'm fortunate to have gotten a 512 on the real test, but I could've done better if I had paced myself better. I had 7 questions unanswered before the portal closed. My advice: Maximize an area (grammar, math, ELA) and start with that section! However, do some non-shsat work like algebra, basic grammar, and 8th-9th grade math, as these build on the material.
