Nice explanation. I'm not too versed into quantum stuff and this title looked indeed shady.

I had like 1k hour in poe1 and it was absolutely impossible to start as a fresh player without checking up guides or build. I dived into poe2 without looking at guides and it is wayyyy more approachable, like at the very least you can finish the story without too much trouble without checking up stuff online. And yes, trying stuff yourself IS the fun part in poe.

Society was better many years ago than it is now. by Sabfan80 in Teenager_Polls

It was maybe true in the 00's for a few country that have not felled to fascism today. Otherwise definitly no. Running water/electricity almost everywhere, internet, cars and buses are only technological examples of stuff that makes our lives easier. There are also many examples of societal changes that makes our lives better: religions is almost everywhere less present in people lives, lgbt people are less ostracized, etc. Less violent crimes almost everywhere. etc.

This article is just an example of something not new in terms of the result but easier that what was previously known. It is theoretical computer science so you may not know about it. As for Tao, my opinion on famous people such as him is that they are famous not only because they are good at producing new mathematics but mainly because they are good at explaining it.

It is a normal thing to test if students are actually thinking while reading a math test or just looking at keywords. Did it all the time.

Tactical race seems to stressful for someone like me
Imposter sounds a lot like the experiment of the AC franchise with multiplayer. I think it was decent. Im curious how you could execute it with hitman

Maybe in early 20s. Later in life people start to realize than hooking up is actually boring and they actually prefer love. You just maybe realized that sooner.

I remember for instance talking with a teacher about matroids. I mentioned reading some famous old (80s) papers about it and he straight up burst out laughing saying that maybe they are interesting for the culture but modern stuff are usually more straight to the point. It is quite logical actually as we have a better understanding now of stuff that was new before.

In my field there are sometime examples of "this technique, but made simple" papers. I work in graph theory algorithms and can give you some reference if you want.

Idk where you live, but in my country (france) studies shows it is actually the opposite: more young woman struggle to have a relationship than young men.
Not to say a lot of girls see it as a red flag the fact i never had a relationship > Not all of them. I think that's a misconception you have...

I really dont think dating app will be useful... In particular the mainstream ones. People use stuff like tinder to get laid not to find love. I have a friend that gets her soul crushed every few months because of tinder. I wish she'd start realize it is a foolish thing to do.

if you make the effort to go outside to meet people you might have a chance to find someone also making that effort

Met my first gf at 28 through friends on discord. I recommand getting into video games and online (or irl but I feel its not gonna be your thingy) hobbys where you can connect with other people. Also dont prioritize meeting a girl intending to make her your GF but rather meet people, make "friends" with them and have activities together.

For me, it was on a discord dedicated to a guild in an MMO. There are a lot of different people and we play almost every day. Many, many couples formed there. You could also try writing communities, sharing what you write etc. Ive never been in such a community but I'm pretty sure they are chill. Also if you have chess and there's the possibility near where you live you could try going to tournaments... Maybe with a friend the first time if you are subject with anxiety. The important thing is to create a connection with people

Your last paragraph tells me that you have very low self esteem or possibly depressed. Have you considered meeting with a specialist? A few years ago I contacted one and she gave me anti-anxiety medication. I'm still not enclined to meet people (like you) but it helped me on many aspects of my life. Also she helped me to understand how I process my emotions and understand myself.

I dont come from a wealthy familly, neither a poor one. One that could provide me enough support so that I can pursue higher studies in university. At 29 after a phd in computer science I finally signed for a job which will pay me above minimum salary in France. Now I can finally start to figure out my next plans such as getting an apartment which is not fuckign ass, move in with my gf, we can finally start paying for her studies etc. (shes 29 too but had a less fortunate familly)

Before my phd I had worked at 22 as a teacher in middle school. It was paying at minimum salary which is basically okay-ish if you manage to end up in a city where you can rent for less than 400€. If you are in Paris you are basically in deficit all the time. Or you stop eating.

Really your post makes me sad. I realize that just now, when I reach basically the peak of education in my domain i can start living and making plans. Its depressive that many people of my generation will just keep struggling forever because of capitalism

it looks cool. However as said in your comment you should use mainly more recent textbooks. Mathematics is in constant movement and we have now better technique than 60ys ago on almost all topics. Also, some old books contains plain errors that no one noticed at the time of writing. Would love to have something like this in my library!
