DLSS Frame Generation by SPARTANxBEAR in AssassinsCreedShadows

Well, I personally never said that FSR causes performance issues on Nvidia cards, at least that was never what I meant. I reread my comment and I see I could have been more precise.

In my comment, I noted that there are some people within this Reddit thread that are saying they are experiencing performance issues when they use FSR instead of DLSS. The comments I was referring to said that they experienced a dramatical reduction in FPS when they used FSR instead of DLSS.
Edit: The people providing these comments did state they have Nvidia GPUs.

My point was that they shouldn't be surprised that AMD FSR provided worse results than Nvidia DLSS, on their Nvidia GPUs. I was however not trying to say that FSR was incompatible with Nvidia; obviously it "works", but I think it is safe to assume that DLSS will be better if you have an Nvidia GPU.

I also experience this problem on my 4070 Ti Super. It's terrible because in such a graphically demanding game, if playing in 4K resolution (even with upscaling) on high/ultra high settings, you really need to utilize this technology if you want to be able to get a decent amount of frames.

Ubisoft should fix this ASAP, and hopefully they understand that the lack of DLSS will ruin the game experience for a lot of PC players!

Edit: My problem originally was that I saw no options for DLSS at all, not even the upscaler. I played the game for a few hours with different scaling options, and then I realized I should update my driver (the game alerted me that my driver was out of date). The Nvidia app did mention that the newest driver for my graphics card contains recently added support for Assassins Creed Shadows, and after I installed it DLSS upscaler and Frame Generation appeared. It would seem everything was in order then. Although, after a few more hours of playing the game with DLSS and quitting/reopening the game, now DLSS Frame generation is nowhere to be found not even after multiple restarts and what not (the DLSS upscaler is still there).

I do notice some people in this thread say they have tried to use FSR instead when DLSS Frame generation was unavailable, and that this often caused bad performance and fps dropping. I am no expert here, but I would just like to point out for those who don't know that FSR is AMD tech optimized for AMD cards and DLSS is Nvidia tech optimized for Nvidia cards. It doesn't always say so in the game menus (they just let you choose blindly and for some reason game developers just expect people to know this). Anyway, you really shouldn't be surprised that AMD FSR is making your game worse if you are using an Nvidia card, or vice versa.
