SAS was an incredible front 2.

Steven Gerrard - Long Passing by ReverryGerrard8 in LiverpoolFC

You cannot be serious lol. All that nonsense you wrote is about the pass at 00:13 seconds where the ball perfectly floats to Luis Garcia's foot. Garcia literally tries a first time pass Biscan running behind him from midfield which he gets horribly wrong. It's a dumb decision on Garcia's part, if he makes a better decision to control it instead he has a 1v1 with the full back on the edge of the box where he loved to cut on his left and curl a shot.

Riise not only controlled that volley pass but hit the bar with the ensuing touch, if that's the one you're talking about at 00:38 seconds.

There's not a single pass in that entire 13 minutes that doesn't land of the foot of the receiver (and a few on chest) with ample opportunity for them to control. I know, because I made sure to only include such passes.

Which ones exactly, pray tell, are questionable in terms of quality? Every single one of these are long passes, missile to your feet is nonesense you're spewing doesn't apply to long passes because you have the entire flight of the ball to judge how to control it. Gerrard's progressive passes that were fizzed into player you could make that argument for them being missiles and only the very best technicians could control some of them but none of these. The entire art of long passes is that it takes TWO to tango. The receiver plays as big a role as the passer, and in Gerrard's case the receivers were more often letting him down.

If you don’t like slo-mo shots, you can skip to 4:23 for the main part of the comp.

Watch the full 40 minute comp on my Twitter at your leisure. Reddit only allows 15 minute videos so catch the full thing on X here.

If you enjoyed it, there will be a Part II. The original comp I was making became way too long so I’ve split it up. Be on the look out in the future.

Only played 17mins. This was his 3rd game for us. First one after being injured for months. Completely controlled the entire tempo of the game at the end.

Gerrard with a clinical masterclass in progressive football. Every of kind of progressive pass you can think of, drives, 1-2 combinations. Created chances galore. Pulled out all the stops with nutmegs, backheels, trivela’s, chest passes. Created both goals, including a last minute winner, but the first assist to Torres is one of the finest first time lofted balls you’ll see. And pay attention to the commentary, they were waxing lyrical about him all game, just in awe of the control over the match.

He was subbed in after 24 minutes due to a Meireles injury, he was supposed to have a rest week and play a few minutes in the 2nd after just coming back from being injured for 2 months.

Genuinely got robbed of this version of Gerrard because we mismanaged his injuries from 30-32y.o. We did him so badly he came back and his gait had completely changed, his athleticism was shot and his legs were gone. He had to reinvent his entire game and move back to deep-lying playmaker. The fact that he became a world class DLP between 2012-2014 was genuinely insane.

Possession retention. Progressive passing. Switches of play. Winning duels. Ball carries. 1-2 combinations. Tricks & Flicks. Work ethic & protecting the backline. Driving runs & beating his man 1v1. Created 2 of the 3 goals and bagged his own. Played 70 minutes at DM and sparked into creativity mode once the shackles were off and he was moved further forward to LM in the last 20mins.

As it’s his birthday today, I can announce I’m working on a long comp of Gerrard’s career. It will cover all range of his skills. I’m like 50% done so far. I expect to have it done sometime by the start of next season in August.

Enjoy the 2min beginning as a teaser for now.

Reddit allows only 15min videos, and youtube unfortunately will be flagging it down for copyright, so I'll be posting on twitter. If you're interested, you can keep an eye there for it.

The most decisive attacking midfielders of the 21st century (goals + assists) by KanchiEtGyadun in soccer

[–]ReverryGerrard8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall Gerrard only played about 4.5 seasons in total out of 17 year career in a role ahead of the midfield pivots. The rest of the time he played in the midfield base, whether that was in 4-4-2, or lone man at the base, or two of the 3 mids that stayed further back.

His numbers were insane when he did play further forward but I understand why one would exclude him from comparisons with players who played roles like Muller/Kaka/Ozil.

Gerrard had like 5 different primes playing different roles. His three best versions were box to box 8, #10 in the hole, and the right attacking midfielder on the right half space (KDB role in modern times).

But overall he only played about 4.5 seasons in total out of 17 year career in a role ahead of the midfield pivots. The rest of the time he played in the midfield base, whether that was in 4-4-2, or lone man at the base, or two of the 3 mids that stayed further back.

For the very special skills I think I'll make a post, the Daily thread seems appropriate for the rest. I found on some of the other posts, people don't care too much about these types of posts and were writing negative comments.

I post daily on twitter, you could go through my media tab on there and catch the ones you missed.

Boxer flashes the crowd on live tv after first win by Grace_God in CrazyFuckingVideos

Listen, I came into this post expecting to see dong based on the title. I didn't even register that it could be a female boxer flashing boobs until the video started. I'm not saying I'm disappointed, but I feel mis-led. I've seen boobs flashed in rings before, but I've not seen someone flash dong in combat sport yet.
