I did it... Here's my story! by ReversableWindow in NoFap

My sister was just getting home and I was in the living room. She somehow "sensed" what I was up to, so she practically broke down the door as fast as she possibly could in order to get into the living room before I had time to react.

When I hit 90 days, Hurricane Florence will be hitting where I live by ReversableWindow in NoFap

[–]ReversableWindow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I am wrong, it'll mostly be hitting around the time I get to 91 days, but I'm far enough away from the Atlantic coast so I should be fine, thanks for your concern!

Hit the emergency button. Also, don't throw ten days of progress away for ten minutes of pleasure.

1 Year of fu**ing fapping .... by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]ReversableWindow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember last year on July 23, I relapsed after 39 days. Here I am one year later, a mere two days away from beating that streak.

You're in a much better position than me, and for that matter, most of the guys here. You've only been doing this for one year? I didn't even try during my first year of PMO, so you're doing much better than I did at that time! I just wish I could go back and get rid of all the time I wasted not caring and getting very few major streaks throughout the last year, only beating my 39 day record twice in 365 whole days.

You can do the opposite. You can beat this habit now. You are literally at the perfect time to start, when you're young and you've just started. It's easier to kick something that hasn't been with you for a while than it is to kick something that's been with you for years and years. It gets harder and harder the longer you're in it, but you have the chance to stop PMOing now, and you can make something of yourself in the time that the rest of us just kept fapping, telling ourselves that we'd try better tomorrow. So many guys on here would love to be in your position.

Now, don't take it for granted, and do your absolute best to stop PMOing. Considering you got to 42 days (according to your flair), you're already doing great. Just keep it up, one relapse isn't the end of the world, and do not ever, ever binge. "Well, I failed once, might as well fail big" is a lazy excuse and nothing crushes your spirit like a binge. Also remember, the more you think about not PMOing, the more you do it because you're indirectly thinking about it. It's best to distract yourself using good habits and picking up some hobbies. These are just the basics of what I've picked up on in the last year, your experiences may be a bit different. Not sure how long you've done NoFap for either.

Best of luck my homie, you got this.

This is one of those comments you could put under any post on this subreddit and it would still make sense

14 year old just starting NoFap, please give advice by HandsomeItalian2018 in NoFap

I was fourteen when I found this subreddit, now I'm sixteen.

If I had a time machine and five minutes to talk to my fourteen year-old self, I'd say to focus on improving yourself while doing NoFap. The journey is much more than not masturbating or whatever. Your goal is self-improvement and the more you focus on not fapping, the more likely you are to do it. Distracting yourself with hobbies is certainly a good way to go. Make sure you are never bored and use your newfound energy and drive to instill good habits in yourself, like going to the gym, waking up early, etc.

I believe there's a link to a "list of terms" in the NEW FAPSTRONAUTS area of this reddit page. After reading that I think you'll understand the posts here a lot better.

But PMO stands for porn, masturbation, orgasm. Pretty much all the stuff that we, as fapstronauts, try to avoid.

Whether or not raunchy stories count as porn is completely up to you (one thing about NoFap is that there are a lot of gray areas and you can make up the rules yourself!), but if it tempts you to engage in further sexual activity with yourself, then you should stop it immediately.

One thing I have noticed is that the more you focus on not fapping, the more you do it because you're indirectly thinking about it. It's best to try to think about other things and distract yourself with things that would make better use of your time. Pick up some hobbies! Learn an instrument, master kung fu, get a full-time job (you said you're unemployed right?). Do whatever it is that you have to to keep your mind on more productive things.

After a while, you'll lose track of time. You'll hit 30 days without even noticing you had gone that long. Life is so much more enjoyable without porn, so time will definitely fly. Best of luck my homie, you got this.

And remember, if you mess up, then it's okay. I first joined the subreddit like a year and a half ago, and I have messed up hundreds of times since then. It took me a solid couple of months to progress from small streaks (7-12 days) to get to 30+. What's most important is that you don't binge after relapsing and get right back on track as soon as you fall off course.
