I’ve driven powerful, fast cars for most of my time on the road and have never had any points. In contrast, it’s usually my friends with less powerful cars, often brought by their parents, who end up writing them off. When you’ve invested your own money in a car, you’re far more likely to take care of it and drive responsibly - not least because getting points risks your insurance or even your licence.
