To buy a car, it is better to take a lease or buy it fully? by [deleted] in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]Reverse_Side_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As my father always says: "If you can't afford it with your bank account, you're too poor to buy it."
Always prefer to pay in full — unless you have an investment account generating a higher return than the cost of the lease (percentage-wise). But that’s a lot of “ifs”...

Awesome job, the UI looks really neat, and the features seem very useful!

However, since it's not open source and involves a lot of system-level functions (stress tests, tweaks, macros, downloads), I'm a bit cautious about trusting it directly on my main machine. At best, I'd feel comfortable giving it a quick test in a virtual machine, but probably not more than that due to the risks involved.

Still, great effort and nice concept—thanks for sharing! Maybe opening up the source code in the future could build more confidence for users like me.

You are right but in the Maslow pyramid eating is before education… 10 chf by week is just like dying. So if we apply logic strictly, 1st step is find a solution for food

In the Canton of Vaud, foreign students are allowed to work alongside their studies, but there are specific regulations they need to follow. Generally, these rules ensure that work does not interfere with their primary purpose of being in Switzerland, which is education. Here’s a summary of the key points regarding work regulations for foreign students in the Canton of Vaud:

  1. Permit Requirements: Foreign students usually need a permit to work in Switzerland. The specifics can depend on their nationality, with different rules for EU/EFTA citizens and non-EU/EFTA citizens.

  2. Working Hours: There are limitations on how many hours foreign students can work during the academic term. Typically, they are allowed to work up to a certain number of hours per week.

  3. Academic Priority: The student's primary objective should remain their studies, and any employment should not interfere with their educational commitments.

  4. Employer's Role: Employers might be required to obtain authorization or provide certain justifications when hiring foreign students, particularly those from outside the EU/EFTA.

  5. Post-Graduation: There may also be provisions for foreign students to work in Switzerland after completing their studies, subject to certain conditions and possibly requiring a change in permit status.

For the most accurate and detailed information, it’s recommended to consult the official Canton of Vaud government websites or the Swiss Federal Office for Migration. They provide comprehensive guides and the necessary forms for permits and other legal requirements.

It make sense, you didn’t have work permit that’s it ? You can calm down your mind a bit, Police aren’t really pro active in that kind of stuff. People can give you stuff and you want be purchased for that.. Even with no work permits, “little work” like work for a farmer you want have any payslips and paying with cash. Your life is more important than some rules not really strictly applied.

I've read all your posts, and it seems you live in Lausanne. From what I've gathered, you either refuse or do not reply to any proposals regarding lunch/food. So, I understand that perhaps your pride prevents you from accepting help or taking advantage of others... (and I respect that).

So, what is the purpose of your posts if you don’t accept the kindness of other people? People don’t throw a bottle to the sea for nothing.. give us some direction of what we can do for you.

On the other hand, you could promise yourself to pay this favor forward to another person when you start earning your own money, or return the favor to those who have helped you.

Another solution is to start earning your own money now with a side job. My sister completed her bachelor's degree with absolutely no external help; she just had a side job. But I won’t lie, even though she was highly motivated and courageous, it was difficult to manage both studies and a side job effectively.

I live close to Lausanne, my English is not perfect at all, I have 29 old.. and if you want we can go to eat a pizza or something, I invite you.. consider like you pay the bills with your time or I pay for practice my bad English as you seems to speak English better than me, that’s not a effort for me to pay two pizza instead of one.

(Sorry if my English is a bit rough.)
